Which ever the last version of Dreamus is, I love it. Much better than the old ones. Bitchslap, I'm not too fond of. Usually just wind up grabbing a hellbender and nailing everyone with the beams. I see everyone's point on ChainsIsile, but I kind of miss this one. Probably because since I haven't been playing that long I learned alot of stuff on that map. A learning map I guess. And I don't care for ClasicEvilDead at all. Do nothing more than smash people with a manta on that one.
ENOUGH !

Chain lags like a mofo but is a great map with 16-20 people on. As for my drivers, just the current (or at least I hope it's still current) Catalyst drivers, on a Radeon 9600 SE. I know the card's not the greatest but with a gig of RAM and an Athlon 64 behind it I can still turn 60-70 frames on 1280x1024 as long as I'm playing online. Playing my 32-bot practice games tends to tax the system quite a bit though. :p
As for DarkMarsh...the look of it and the way it plays isn't too bad but it's lackluster. I'm not overly impressed.
Acerbus is one map I'm really getting to loathe. It SUCKS. Same with ClassicEvilDeadRedux2 - one's too big, the other's too open.
Dreamus...honestly 32p is the better map, IMO, but they all still suck due to a lack of defensive firepower at the core. A large number of combined-fire bio-rifles will do a lot of damage, but nobody ever tries...and really, it's still no match for the good guns at the other nodes.
So basically what I'm saying is ditch every map I mentioned here, with the exception of Dreamus.
Also...I have a suggestion on a map you should get, just because it's fun for shits and giggles and doesn't lag. DomeOfDoom. It's a lot more strategic than it looks at first - it's an ONS map about 1/4 the size of EvilDead, and there are redeemers and ion painters at the lockers. 5 nodes, 2 cores, 1 tactical nightmare on how to actually WIN. I'll let you guys figure that part out, feel free to ask my sage advice (tip: miniguns are cool). :cat:

You should feel bad, lol
Don´t worry, He´s got the whole world in His hands.

Dreamus is a map that you either love or hate. I love it, and although it is cool to have 3 of them, thats not fair to the ones that hate it. I think the only thing that's really wrong with Dreamus is the lack of firepower at your base as Purity said. Once the other team has the second node (in the original dreamus) your team is very hard-pressed to make a comeback.
I don't really like bitchslap. It's way better without mines, but I'd like to try it without the tank as well just to see how it plays.
ChainsIsile is decent without mines.
I'm indifferent to evildead.

<----LOOK AT MEEE! WEEEEEEEEEEE!
I would have to agree with the original poster. Most of those maps are just death matches with ONS thrown in. While it can be fun for a bit, what usually happens is that it goes to OT every time. So, you end up playing over an hours worth on one map with no strategy. If people want to play deathmatch, why don't they just go to a deathmatch server?
Dreamus 32 is not horrible. But someone above mentioned the disparity of the weapons. I think that the author got a little too cute with how he laid those out.
I used to always try hard in bitchslap.. Now, I can't stand it. However, about a week ago, I did end up on a team that understood how to play it and we won the second match in about 5 mins.

Those maps are kill fests and I being relatively new to this game have a hard time with it. I like onslaught because it is supposed to be team based.ToxicWaste wrote:I put Dreamus back, and took out Dreamus-32p

I could play dreamus morning day night for a week with no breaks but lunch and dinner, and bathroom breaks of course. I'd prolly also learn to like coffee I dunno why, it's just my map. My dad says he knows what the map designer had in mind when he made the map: LEARN HOW TO USE EVERY F*in' GUN! Grenade launchers and bio rifles are mostly untouched cuz no one learns them when they're noobs. Thus, put them at the core. THEY CAN BE USEFULL! Use grenades to sabatoge enemy vehicles and take out nodes, 8 grenades can make a huge difference. The biorifle is most efective if you hold down the alt-fire til it's fully charged, aim, and fire. A DIRECT HIT KILLS! If you hit in front of them, it might kill 'em too. BOTH GUNS ARE EFFECTIVE AT TAKING OUT NODES! We could play an entire game with 3 guns: Link Gun (for linking), Biorifle (attacking people) and Grenade Launcher (anti-vehicle/node), and they're right there at the core! Of course, that leaves you vulnerable to mantas, but LIVE WITH IT! /end rant at Dreamus-hatahs
Bitchslap, I could play morning day and night for one day. I like it. Guess I like spam. It tastes good on a sandwhich. Never heard of that other one, evildead? Never heard of it. Ever. PLEASE OH PLEASE DON'T put the rotate up, I don't get to play much and when I do all I ask for is DREAMUS! And maybe some spiffy and urban... And if dreamus goes that fast then I'd never ever get to play it *puppy-dog eyes*

I think everyone knows the issues with Dremus by now so I'll not rehash it. I can only take it now and again as the mindless spam gets on my nerves after awhile. I know more than a few love it howerver so it's probably here to stay.
My only suggestion is that you at least keep the Dremus2-32p version running as the original is just awful in comparison. The 32p version is at least a little better balanced and occasionally allows for core comebacks, something you'll never see on the original version without half the winning team all getting suddenly disconnected at the same time.
Bitchslap while similar at first glance has some modest strategy to it - keep the tanks down, keep as much direct fire aways from one side of the middle and for god's sake LINK UP to build that node. Every now and then I'll be lucky enough to get on a team that actually understands how to play this map and it's always a great time. And with the noob-unfriendly version without mines, it's just gravy now.
There's also the fun mini-game I'll get into rarely with someone else who can shield jump that's called "keep away with redeemers". Moderately amusing to play Deathmatch on a small ledge 2 feet wide while chaotic battles rage underneath you on both sides.
