Just wait and see. I want to play an adren to give back. Now you lot want to take away just because you passed the stage where you needed adren. I'm not a great UT2004 player, I get beat down on AS ans ONS but I don't think only good players should have fun.
When I started my AM the amount of Adren pills was no where close to what it is now. I remember having to kill monsters using NRG leach to get enough adren to roll just 1 NRG weapon. I couldnt go looking for the pills that gave me 10 adren or I would die and now the pills give you up to 100 adren and they respawn way to fast. Now you can roll NRG weapons in record time.

On wave 16 all I need is 100 of the 700 max adren and I don't need the Adren pills. I get all my adren just tanking Luci.

High players cannot dominate if the low players are dead. If they are dominating that means there is a low level still alive. Some suggestive ideas is to communicate with the other adren peeps. Once one person generated an energy flak (maybe a high player), you & all the other ams may have a copy of it. Then you could use that weapon to generate uncopiable weapons for yourself like vamp or vorpals.

Keep in mind high levels aren't here to kill kill kill. They got to a high level some how, and I'm sure that the main factor is working as a team. If you need any assistants in generating weapons, don't hesitate to ask for aid (just don't ask during luci wave lol).

Dodge tanking is effective, too ;)

I don't think I've played any uber easy maps that provided 150 adren per second (Maybe glacier base was pretty up there), but after thinking of this, I do feel like the adren quantity is climbing climbing & climbing. I came in around August last year when maps were "ok" on adren, & I'm sure the maps weren't that bad when MM first came out. Just work as a team (instead of independent of everyone around you), and you should be okay when playing Akbal ;)
The difference between successful people from others is
not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.

Agree and Agree with D2

Although when I 1st started playing in the MM servers I had no idea you could copy weapons and it took me a while to find this out. And even though I am a high lvl AM if there is no low lvl players around I will die just as quick as a low lvl player. Its all about team work!!!!

So have fun, save the world and go kill those monsters.

Boss knows a bit about teamwork from being on that UT map with no hides, was it irondeity? Anyway, I just think that if the quality is still climbing, just stop. No lower, no higher.

Best thing that has been said: Harry.adren.clay: They forget the noobs!

We had a lengthy discussion on server 1 when I said about this. Most did agree that it would make AMs hard to run, especially if you're not very good at Ut2k4 like me. Challenge? Try running across a whole map for a link gun with 100 HP and 160 dr and NO vamp or globe or triple...

It is easy enough to say. People don't want you to make anything harder, some were saying they would go over to WOP servers like Madness otherwise. a word of advice: You will lose about half of the under-100 adrens and the rest will not be happy. Even althos (lvl 150ish) said he would quit unless his medic improved if this happened. Sorry for long post :P

If they want to leave, then they can leave... There's a reason why MM1 and MM2 are some of the most popular UT2K4 servers out there. Not just Invasion but ALL gametypes. If they don't like it, there's no reason for them to play here. Let them go where they have fun. Not that we don't value them or their opinions, but as a clan we can't possibly cater to EVERYONE.

I've quit playing MM BECAUSE of maps that just spam Adren pills... I reached lvl 200+ back when there were almost no maps like this whatsoever, and that was about a year ago now. A few mappers decided to start putting super fast adren spawns everywhere on maps and it bothered me that I had worked so hard to level up and now anyone could take a level 45 AM, and just keep hitting the adren piles and make the top three. How unfair was that? I worked for it, they got it for free.

Back when I started my AM, I had my @$$ handed to me so many times I lost count... I took me weeks, no, months to get to the level my character is. I didn't need thousands upon thousands of Adren pills to level up, not only that, but they weren't around back then. Just stick to the game, rolling maybe just an inf link for the whole game and linking up may not be fun to you, but that got me and MANY others to the place they are today, not neccessarily the adren pills, (which as I said, have become the standard lately.) Not to mention, it just adds to teamwork as a whole.

The assertion that many players reached the level they are today by taking advantage of this adren is a naive one at best. Not only that but my first character (a medic) was out there dodge tanking luci any time there was no adren master around and sometimes when said adren master got smoked by luci. I've even tanked luci with my Medic so a bunch of low level AM's could link up and take him out since all three of them were too low level to tank themselves. Again another assertion you can throw out.

I think it's safe to say that most everyone who has posted here knows a bit about team work.

???
I have no idea what you are saying here.
Jons Return wrote:Best thing that has been said: Harry.adren.clay: They forget the noobs!
This is certainly not true. Many of the mods Wail has done make it easier for everyone, particularly noobs (e.g. there was a time not too long ago when you had to know how to trans to get to certain places --> no flight weps)

Again, everyone here has had or has a low level character and has either run across a map with low hp, dr and no globe etc., etc, or they have chosen not to go and get that link gun.

Many people never want things to get harder (some even want the "I win" button), but you must understand that the server is constantly evolving (a good thing) so sometimes it gets harder and other times it gets easier (and it does so differently for different classes and player levels).

Having said all that I'll ask you to reread Wails initial post. He suggests that mappers stop overloading the maps with adren. Somehow throughout the thread this got morphed into "they're gonna take all the adren spawns out of the maps". Though I think it might be good to tone down some of the more blatant adren offenders, I doubt much of anything will be done to any of the existing maps

If you don't have a Link Gun, and you don't have Vampirism, Globe, or Triple - Then you must be a Medic.
I'm not sure how the prevalence of adrenaline on a map really impacts that scenario in any way.

Althos - The guy who whined when I improved the Medic weapon? Yeah, very informed character there.

I actually agree with you though, I think the server is too hard. However, it's pretty short sighted to think that overloading maps with adrenaline doesn't contribute to this. In order to make the server challenging at all when you are running maps with 100 adren/s the monsters need to pretty much be much stronger than they otherwise would be.

Lets be frank - It is not at all possible to have monsters that pose a credible threat on maps like Watch Your Back or Crazy Trans Jumpers, where players can place their Translocators in completely safe rooms, gain 700 adren + DD + Redeemers, and then have a playable but challenging map like Kotam. Maps like the former just become idiotic as you watch one player hop in and out of the safe spot, spamming everything he has and then running away. Maps like the latter would become impossible, because the monsters would be geared towards providing a threat to the insanely overpowered scenario from the first map.

In short, advocating for really high adrenaline counts on maps just promotes an arms race mentality that just exaggerates balance problems on the server.

Just to discuss this problem further - Jon, what exactly do you feel that having 100 adren/sec spawns do to help low level players, specifically?

crazytrans... no spawns there. And the telport hide in the middle got PwNeD last night by a raptor, yes they are really good dr i hit it on the head with a deemer and it still killed me xD

Ok so maybe althos complains a lot but I do like the guy...

and by my previous post, I mean Don't make it harder, don't make it easier. I'm happy with the server as it is, and some nooby ppl say make the stat points per lvl higher. I DISAGREE. I'm not a noob who wants pipsy 6-yr-old gaming, I just don't want to struggle to have fun on my fav server. Why make it easier? why make it harder? most are content as it is. We had a laugh on cheapshots bloodbath, it WAS funny when I went hoverboarding on wave 11 and hit a raptor and blew up, and maybe maps like Kotam are a break for the higher lvls, but just leave it. I'm happy, and so are all the lowbs. Well. Most of them.
