Oh, and yes, All-Fall-Down needs to go, it's such a horrible map. I've had MONSTERS spawn on that map before, and destroy locked nodes, cutting us off while we're trying to hit the core. It was SO STUPID...(is this a map feature, or was there a hacker aboard?).
I played AlienCrossfire for the first time last night.. Ughh... By the time it downloaded half the map was already powered up. I jump into a manta and proceed to jump off and kill myself! I ended up with -1. lol...

Those monsters are in the map by design I think... I have had that happen multiple times. I think that the map maker got a little too clever for their own good.

I want to make a map featuring some monsters spawning in it at some point. I guess Purity wont be a fan. I may wait for UT2007, make one in a desert and try to make those massive worm things off Dune popping up and eating your tanks.

How are your stock maps working out? Anything with a choke node runs badly for 32 servers at titan. I am redoing red planet with more nodes if your stock version is wearing thin. Also Urban-NoLevi (not one of mine) is much better than standard Urban.

EDIT: Are you running ONS-FBU-Stonehaven? If so GET RID OF IT! If not ignore this edit, I've never heard of such a map.

Monsters are okay as long as they aren't destroying LOCKED NODES, Gorz. That, and there were a whole pile of them camping one spot and killing everybody. It was pretty stupid that game.

Also...maps with choke nodes in 32 just make for lots of spam.

Remove the SPMA from Spiff IMHO. Replace it with nothing.

All Fall Down and Alien crossfire are gone.

We have several choke point maps, and I love 'em (The dreamus twins come to mind)

Stonhaven sucks big time. I ran it for one night.

Bah! you are just not leet enough. They are refusing to drop Stonehaven at titan (the place of uber maps). Good for flushing out the server if it needs a reboot I suppose.

Spiff - HunterW made a spiffingrad with the blue hole of death removed and Djsilt made some locker adjustments.

http://dodue.free.fr/datas/ons-spiffing ... -beta3.zip

Vehicle loadout is standard spiff. Scorp and hellbender at cores. 1 scorp at a primary and 1 tank at the other. Its the best version of spiffingrad if you like wall to wall spam.

I think the SPMA on Spiffengrad is an important strategic target. And also an equalizer against tanks. Sure it's irritating as hell, but that's when you and your buddy go gut the sucker that's in it. Maybe if a node or two were covered...

Yeah I take my comment back about choke nodes. I was just playing ONS-RTS-MushroomKingdom (or whatever) on the Omnipotents server. One primary but was an amazing match.

That is a really fun map! Just a change of pace from the normal stuff. Kind of like spam.

To me, it's just such an adrenaline rush when you have two evenly matched teams fighting over one node. It's a much different feeling than say volcano high which is more strategic.

Nothing like standing at that middle node in Dreamus, alone, charging, and looking over the hill waiting for 3 guys to rush you with flak, going "c'mon, c'mon, charge!"
