I got my map back by the way... But It's so far back that It's not even worth the trouble In rebuilding It. Idk, maybe I can find an autosave of It somewhere.

I don't know how to check my HDD configuration. I'll check the model of my pc at somepoint. Don't want to be bothered to do It right now. Just want to see If I can find anything else on my map.

well, I know there is a latest copy of the last save of your map into your HDD, even if its in the hidden sections of win7

just use device manager->hdd or tuneup utilities or cpuz or......
and go to official site and download maintenance and check disk tools
e.g. seagate has seatools software

Have no Idea what I'm doing. This Isn't my type of thing to do with computers.

regarding the map, just fcuk it...

right click on "my computer icon"
properties
device manager (up left)
go to storage devices or something like that
you can see the make/model of your HDD

alternatively: control panel -> hardware

alternatively: open a windows browser -> right click on "C:\" -> properties -> 3rd tab hardware and there you view your HDD

1. is it a desktop or a laptop?
2. how old is your HDD?
3. how old is your pc?
4. when was the last time you did an error check on this HDD ?
5. when was the last time you defrag this HDD ?
6. when was the last time you format your HDD (system)through bios ?
7. any other diagnostic tests done on your hdd/OS/system ever?

simple rule:
if its a desktop pc, back-up all your data (not your porn) in an external HDD (go buy a WD or seagate 500GB for less than 50 usd).
format it and use it as your secondary (slave) HDD to back-up your data.
you will use the new HDD (master/primary) for your OS and your work (drive C:\) and your old HDD to back-up all kinds of crap...

if you can afford it, buy an SSD drive to home your OS...it will cost you (depending on the size of the drive) from 50-100 usd.

if its a laptop...i will tell you next time...

Alright, well thank you for all of your help shodan.

At this point though, I'm just done messing around with my computer or trying to figure things out.

Just had a reality check a couple of days ago, that make any of this seem all to insignificant so I don't much care anymore. I'm sorry to have wasted your time, and I appreciate everything that you've done to try and help.

Sorry to everyone who was looking forward to my map and or any other maps that I had planned.
But I'm done, I will not be making any more maps for the server.

I guess It all just rests on the others to convert and make maps for all of you.
