As it has always been in online games (and no doubt always will remain), spawnkilling is the last refuge of the unskilled and those who wish to annoy other players. I tend to completly ignore it when it happens unless someone who knows how to kill is being an ass tormenting my team and no one on my side can get them to stop.
If I get spawnkilled a few times... meh whatever. Great kill there chief, I am in awe of your skill at running my weaponless ass over a few seconds after I spawned in. *sigh*

There is no doubt that spawnkilling is part of the game ... And I have to say Ditto to Storm.... I can't stand the one's that early in the game run over with the manta time after time and spawnkill... But being that it's part of the game you have to be on your toes...As your level of skill developes as a player though... This spawnkilling thingy won't bother you ...Practice killing a spawnkiller until you become a deadly opponite ...I will cover skills to address this issue in the tactics part of the forum ...But just to entertain a thought, Spawnkilling can become a real solution if you use it to suppress the opponite enough to buy time ...Sometimes I will fly off to do so ,as one of the other guy's charges the node ... In this case , it can be very useful... Just remember if they get dirty , you can rub some stink on it too .... . . .
If you don't like being spawn killed don't play. I work had to make sure my team pins the other team down and if I have to mow over you a 100 times with the manta so be it. If you are a good player you will learn to grab the avril and take out the manta. Why should you be nice to the other team when you are trying to win! If you are so worried about being spawn killed over and over with a manta on the DW server I suggest you come visit the Linode server that only hosts Torlan...you will see the meaning of Manta Whore.

Jett if you think barbarian is BAO just check the stats. If you change your name it changes it for all past stats. If they are using two serial numbers you would have problem identifying them.
I have caught a few botters that use the name change tactic to go in and out of a game to try and make it hard for you to identify them. Regardless of what their name is changed to everyone has a unique number tied to their serial number. Most honest players don't change their names that often so just remember names and check the stats.

Indeed, spawn killing just plain happens. I do it, I won't lie - but only in specific situations:
1) When I can. This is the most common - I'm blowing by a node and some guys are spawning, sure I'm going to kill them! That split second is handy, and free frags are free frags (I don't concentrate on my score, but I'll pick up some extra points if it doesn't hurt the team).
2) When I'm trying to buy us time. This is expecially true in maps where there's a distant primary node - I can often pin them down in their base with a tank, manta, or hellbender, or better yet a Levi, and win the game by doing that while we build up the primary node.
3) When we're ROYALLY screwed, and I'm trying to cut down on the number of guys beating on our base node, or just trying to exact some revenge on the other team for the sound beating they just gave us.
That's the order of priority, too, really. Spawn killing can be fun, just don't overdo it - you're usually wasting your team's precious resources. That said, if you've got a really good camping racket that's helping your team win, don't stop on my account!
