UT3 Requirements

UT3 should be coming soon with a new gametype, improved vehicles, and MORE PLAYERS! Death Warrant will be there with hardware to spare!

Looks like my current system should run UT3 just fine. I wonder what kind of hardware power you need for the "Holy Shit" settings :colors:

What these specs tell me is that the main game thread is still doing the bulk of the work, and you probably will not get away with a low clocked dual core (i.e. 1.6 or 1.8). And from a client perspective, a quad core is useless unless you are running a bunch of stuff in the background.

Looks like I will be able to get by on my machine for a while.

As for the server...well that's another story altogether.

But now, I am finially getting excited :cheers:

UT3 seems to be made for multithreading. I checked on my Quad 6600 and it looks like load is shared evenly. I get to an average of 60% on all 4 cores, while I was doing VCTF. Less on DM.

You know, I'm on a single-core Opteron 148 at 2.53 Ghz and I didn't feel like I was hurting, but I kind of wonder. I sure hope we can get some benchmarks that compare single-core CPUs to their (same speed and cache) dual-core counterparts.

Whipper my dual is maxed at 100% all the time on this game. I'm sure your single core is screaming. It may run fine whipper but I imagine in the long run in order to get full advantage in matching your going to have to upgrade!

I have a g15 and it has a macro that can run performance use in the lcd screen of the g15. I can monitor cpu and gpu usage.

I have multiple monitors. I run speedfan on the side and can watch my CPU and temps.

I think we are all missing something somehow. There's no way it should be taking 60% of 4 cores.

That would imply that this thing couldn't possibly work well at all on a single core CPU.

Also, I see 100% utilization on both of my cores (AMD 165) which doesn't seem quite right.
