Wow.. you must have really not been happy the other night with teh quality! lol...

I've done a lot of reading on the TeamSpeak server, and there's not much tweaking I can do beyond changing the codecs, which are already maxed. If it's that bad for some of the players, then maybe we should be looking into alternatives.

Yeah...it was pretty bad. Kinda like having a scratchy piece of cloth laid over a naked mic's condenser and then jerked around.

While I've been having the packet loss on the Cogent hop for a while now...I didn't have any troubles with Vent or lag in game over the last few weeks. So I just dunno what's going on with the darn thing.... :(

Hey Bryan!

Well...you switching the codecs to Speex 25.9 helped out with the sound quality quite a bit! I could differentiate folks at practice last night! Yay! :cheers:

We did notice there was a bit of lag though. (trying to coordinate stunts on the tower in Tricky is tricky indeed when voice chat timing is off!) Still wasn't a definitive test, because at most there were only about 6 of us on at one time. :( What we really need is for 16 peeps to show up and load the TS server with traffic to see if it can keep up.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Vent server is still on the table if we need it.

I'm worried that the next time we get 16 people on that server will be he next scrim. We don't want major problems with our chat during the scrim.

Welp...I totally agree with you there! I just don't know how we're gonna get folks to participate. Maybe collar every SVA you see on the pub server from now until Wed. and try to have 'em show up on Wednesday night at 9:00p Central. I mean, even if they can't stay to practice, if they would just get on the TS server for say 10 minutes or so, that would probably be enough time/people loading to check it out. If it goes foom!, then we can go ahead with plan B or C. Any other ideas, anybody???

Well I could join you guys and maybe some other DW would do too .. If you dont get enough people to fill up the TS server just to try it out like you said.. -- :)
