Ok i bought the game today but there is a major problem. I went to install, which then opened up steam and asked for my CD key. Once I enter my CD Key there comes a message stating.. The Game can not be installed at this time since it has not been officially released. So you can buy it in stores now, but not play it at all.... what kind of bull shit is that....

u can play it if u bought it in a store, but u have wait till the 12th if u pre ordered it on steam

I have played nothing but multiplayer since installing and so far I like the game a lot. I have had no lag issues at all, and I have to say that levels do not feel crowded, nor does it seem like you have to search a while to find an enemy.

While I completely understand the complaints of the clan/organized gaming community about the lack of dedicated servers, I do have to say for a now 100% casual gamer, with very little time periods to play my games (usually I get about 15-45 minutes at a time due to my awesome but active infant), I do enjoy the current multiplayer setup. Every other time I play games like Crysis, CoD4, etc. I spend 5-10 minutes just finding a server. I also always suffered through the "ten second counter" in CoD4 trying to connect to viable servers. So far with MW2, I just click, and literally within 60 seconds I'm with a full host with great competition.

Boil all my rambling down and I guess my point is if you are just a casual gamer who likes to pwn some noobs here and there this system seems fine to me. I'm sure I will have a more absolute opinion a few weeks from now once I've played more.

For me it's the point. IW basically told me as a pc gamer that they don't care and to go to hell if I don't like it. I know my $60 doesn't mean anything to IW but again it's the point. The game may be good and end up being what some people want but for me all I have to say about MW2 is :thefinger:

I'll play chess before I give IW a dime.

Anyone who buys this game is a traitor to humanity.

Traitor is a little extreme, but I understand where you're coming from. Is there even an option to host your own server for competition purposes in any manner? Once I past this next test I will get the game giving me about a month to play before my baby boy shows up. Hopefully I will see some of you on there. :)

Holy shit it's Namu!! Maybe I'll get MW2 just to hang out with Namu for awhile! Do you have COD4, Namu? It'll probably be some time before I get MW2, but if you have COD4 you should join us for some head-shootin' one of these evenings.

alright after about 6 hours of playing.

Here is a list of what sucks.

First of all there is no dedicated servers bla bla bla

if you want to play hardcore team deathmatch or s&d u have to be level 19.

match lengths for tdm are around 10 minutes or first to 75 kills which is around 5 minutes if its one of the smaller maps.

more noob tubes than ever

hardcore tdm u have to wait 7 seconds to respawn

the only way killcam or match time and score amount can be increased is if u do a private match but that means u have to have everyone added on steam first.

the first 5 matches where lag free but after that it was rather bad

no screenshot ability so u have to use fraps etc

no console atall to modifie your fov etc etc

max is 12 players so no fun with shooting loads of people


Probably loads of things that im missing but maybe we can hope for a patch.
