Just think of the mp5 and link as a treat. You can only use it for a short period of time. Once that time expired, you have to go back to the regular weapons. By the way, on the later waves when the monsters pile up, try the weapons with splash damage (flak and rockets). You may be surprised to gain 20 xp per shell.

Don't compare this to medics. Medics have to chose which weapon and only one weapon to make their inf medic weapon. If you want an inf mp5, it doesn't hurt to ask an am. If they refuse, so be it. I'm hoping by the time, you'll learn to diversify your arsenal. There are better magic modifiers out there. Whenever you spawn with a rage, vorpal, piercing, null, energy, etc... You should check them out. Weapons like energy and null makes things very easy to run with the triple constantly. Piercing is very handy when the monster level is sky high.
