Sorry that everyone cannot be pro and that some people like maps you don't, if it is truly too much of a kiddie pool, perhaps you could start your own server where you could have complete control over these settings, IMO.

DW three years ago I could have. Today... there's not enough people playing ut2004 to populate more than a few servers.
Sad no?

This is enough. This discussion has been going on in one form or another since roughly 2005. Frankly, I find it fucking amazing that there is still any community to speak of at all that still enjoys playing this game almost a half decade after its release. You recognize this nny, but you are also in danger of alienating said dwindling pool of potential players with your attitude...or maybe I'm just too sensitive like a lady. Could be. Sorry ladies. Or maybe you are playing your attitude up over here for some purpose, presumably humor? And anyone who thinks that MinusTMU is simply a "kiddie pool/spam map" isn't playing it right. There is plenty of potential for strategy especially if you'd bother to communicate with the plebes that you are so far above. Just because the vehicles are more powerful and because some people camp them and rape with them doesn't make the map awful. You see no challenge in taking a loaded Mino down with a Hammerhead? No thrill? Play it some more then. Does it get old playing it twice a night? Sure. Does it fill the server? Sure. Is it fun when you're high/drunk? Sure. Do we need to condescend to people who enjoy "mindless" maps or what have you? Not so sure. First step in running off anyone who might eventually come to enjoy strategery. I forgot how fucking sophisticated some gamers are...ahh, the leets. So eager to beef up their gaming resume? Is it also fun to play strategically on balanced maps? Sure. Although I've been playing other games lately, I still pop into SV and always seem to experience a balance of strategy and spam. Hence, Spam Vikings. I've been playing a lot of COD4 lately and am overwhelmed by the plethora of fucking crybaby pussies that populate that game, and it really makes you appreciate the lack of whining present in the UT world...unless that is changing or changed?

Learn from Linkon, nny. He makes a pleasant and reasonable request sans attitude and even pledges his love to Toxic, who is the last word. He knows the score, and he is 100% less abrasive.
He's smooth:walk
Linkon wrote:Im with ST and nny on this topic... ON this note I would advise that we delete some maps (ones that do not get played at all) and change the ones that offer little strategy in as much as jumping in a overpower tank requires skill
If we don't delete them maps thats fine but if we can i will love toxic forever and ever and ever.
BTW PM me or post in the scrim thread I posted about so we can pew pew some lazers for old times sake.

I'm married, but I appreciate the thought. I have to remember that tools like you feel that anonimity offered by the internet is a license to be, well, a tool. It is your freedom, sir, and your right to plow ahead on that path. Be merry.
Man up...

sweaters you misunderstand when you say the TMU is a well balanced strategical map because it is not. There are two kinds of gametypes on your server "good ons maps" and "yayayay!!! tanks!!!!!" notice the ons maps keep people in the server while alot of good players leave when tank maps come up.
Now I love the fact that you think we are all sophisticated and such when we are not. Sure we played on ladders ect but is that wrong? Why is it whenever someone makes a suggestion to up the competitiveness on a server someone has to call out the "ITS A "PRO"!!! HES a douche don't listen to him!" Its ironic because if I remember correctly DW had a ONS TWL team at one time that did half way decent and i loved those guys on that team.
btw nny and st are close friends of mine and their point still remains... oh btw sweaters get on vent sometime and ill show you some points that you probably don't see on the TMU maps. I love forums but communicating via vent is so much easier. and toxic you are a fucking sexy beast

Linkon you misunderstand because I never said that TMU was a "well-balanced map"--however, there can be strategy on a map thats unbalanced or a map that has outrageous vehicles/weapons/spawn points/etc.
You also misunderstand because I was not referring to you, but rather nny and his attitude. You inserted "we" into the conversation, cautious reader. And I didn't refer to him as a tool because hes "pro" but rather because he's abrasive for no reason/with no provocation and refer's to a group's opinion as "the kiddie pool". I was merely responding to say that he can take that condescension and shit in his fucking hat, and that's from someone who enjoys all types of maps. I have logged many hours on all types of UT and mentioned that I agree with your suggestions. I thought I was pretty clear on that? Guess you didn't read my post but instead came to friend's defense? And please...once and for all...can we take a hike with inane comments like this: "notice the ons maps keep people in the server while alot of good players leave when tank maps come up." Am I alone here, or is everyone else just buttoning their lips so as to not pander and feed into this banal discussion anymore? I'm gonna assume the latter. Just wanted to point out that I initially agreed with you Linkon, and just responding to comments on here that felt needed addressed. The funny thing is that I have no vested interest because I haven't played on SV in...months? And my overall game-time is dwindling--this dynamic and educating discussion, however, will carry on well into 2021.
