I have enable the in-game voice chat during the holiday weekend.

yes and i am now getting a split personality..... KEEP THE CHAT! shut up and go away! NOOOO ITS A GOOD THING!!!!! no vent is easier NO VENT IS TOO LENIENT PEOPLE DONT USE IT ingame is just going to be spammed again then people will blame us! ITS NOT OUR FAULT WE DONT SPAM ANYMORE!

Well I dont know about any one else but I can say 100% that its being abused again and its annoying the hell out of me, I tired every setting I can find and I still cant shut them up !!!!!

Seriously this is putting me off playing Monster Mash as I cant turn them off and its drowning out my vent so theres no point me being on there !

I don't know when you've been on Kae, but when I get on UT the voice chatting is always on a very minimal level. Only Axon, donovan, and a few other people (never caught their names) were ever talking, and it was about completely relevent game business (where we linking up, can someone roll me *insert weapon here.*) Maybe you have your in-game volume turned up too loud, or your vent to low, but I haven't had any problems whatsoever, and certainly not voice spam.

It was all last night that it broke down again. Everyone was doing great until then. A group of people (no names unless an admin wants to know) was chatting about useless stuff and spaming it constantly even after namu told them to stfu.

FTR, I voted yes, but with guidelines in place against off-topic talk.

It's been quite since it's been back on when I'm on. Geez sometimes I end up talking to myself cause everyone is walking on eggshells and afraid to key up.

Its interesting to see all the point of view people can have on a online game. After reading all this stuff i whent to one conclusion : WE ALL PEOPLE HAVE TO DECIDE WITCH CHAT SOFTWARE WE ARE GONNA USE....IN-GAME or VENT thats the question? I agree with one thing...been on vent when the in-game chat is on is a pain in the butt because its hard to understand people in vent and the in-game chat at the same time. Both of those chat software have advantages and inconvenients :

in-game chat

1. advantage :
- easy to use (no setting needed)
- more convenient since the game sound shut down when people are talking.
2. inconvenient :
- Slow the server and make it crash more often (I personnaly dont want to lose some of my level again.... what about you people).
- Hard to control the abuse and the spamming
- Bad quality of the sound

Ventrillo
=====

1. advantage :
- Good quality of sound
- Make the game run smoother = less crashing :)
- Good control over the abuser/spammer (remember E-Bola...lol)
2. inconvenient :
- you have to set it up, adjust the inbound and outbound volume, etc.
- Some poeple sound louder, other sound muted...hard to find the perfect setting
- The in-game sound can mask the poeple talking sometime

After all this i think ventrillo is better because the inconvenient on vent can be easly resolved compared to the in-game chat, witch are, on my opinion, more persistent and hard to resolve. Vent may be harder to set but after its done then only the advantage remains...thats why i choose vent over the in-game chat. If other players persists in not seeing this logical evidence then i feel sorry for them, after all they are the ones missing all the fun.... I DONT... END OF LINE.
