Does Warp Zones work in the same room?*
If not, i found right now, a simple solution:
I will build a cube and make 2 warp zones
example:
Code: Select all
+--+------+---+ +--+----------------------------+---+
|W > < W | |W < > W |
|A > < A | |A < > A |
|R > cube < R | |R < floor > R |
|P > < P | |P < > P |
|1 > < 2 | |2 < > 1 |
+--+------+---+ +--+----------------------------+---+

Yeah you can have multiple warp zones in the same room, but if you can see one warpzone through another warpzone, you'll get this infinite room effect. You'll be rendering the room about 3 times before you'll see Hall of Mirrors; you should place some sort of obstruction in the way with antiportal to prevent this problem.

I have a problem :ssad: .
The warp zone doesn´t work. I have tried to make it like in Pac Monster but the warp zone doesn´t work. I read the tutorial in angel mappers tutorial. but doesnt work either.
First i build 2 zone portal with the Add Special Brush the i put 2 warpzone info. After rebuild i change one of the zone portals by 180° and rebuild it again.
But it doesnt work. Did i forget something?
Thanks for support :swink:

There are many potential problems when using warp zones. Finding the right fix may be difficult to find just through forum posts. It will be best for you to visit vent for this one since I could ask many questions at the same time (questions vary on your responses).
Here's my attempt through text:
- What texture are you using for the Warp Zone Sheet Brushes?
- Is your level fully built? Do you see three zones when viewing in zone portal view: the buffer zone and the two warp zones?
- Do you have only one WarpZoneInfo actor per warp zone? You don't have any conflicting zones within one zone (ie: A ZoneInfo actor and a WarpZoneInfo actor in the same zone)?
- Are your WarpZoneInfo actors' properties correct? Do the warping URL match the other zone's tag?
- Do you see a sky nearby?
- Do you see HOM?
- Do you see a dead-end?
- Is it teleporting you to the wrong side of the warp zone?
Lets give this one a start. I'm sorry if some of these questions are confusing. Just let me know if you need clarification on any of these.
Honestly, you should go on vent more often. I miss you there; I'm sure others do, too![/color]

I tried to put an anti portal between the 2 warp zones and it works :thumbright: .
But, if i pass to the other side i can see a bit of the sky zone.
Just got an great  . This will work. .

The warpzone idea was ok, but i needed to make 16 warpzone infos and the result was, that there was no chance to escape from the HOM  .
Instead of warpzone, i will replace them with teleporters :swink: .
Maybe i use warp zone info in an other map.
Thank you very much for support Ant :thumbright: .

16 Warpzones in a DM map is a bit dense. I understand that it'll give your map a cool effect where your mansion is infinitely large. You can still pull this effect even with two pairs of warp zones (One pair is N to S, the other pair is E to W). Is that possible with your scenario?
I'm not sure if teleporters will be a good idea since they could easily confuse players (unless you have a simple pattern with the teleportation network). Also the teleporters may break.

Another concern you need to keep in mind with warp zones is that monsters will not follow players through them nor in fact even see players through them yet players can shoot (some) weapons through the warp zones. So depending on the setup it can give players an unfair/unrealistic advantage over the monsters
