I'm not giving names, but I've seen a few players do it to others , I mentioned that case because I don't even talk to that person I don't know why he acted like that,I think is just make people people feel good to type stuff like that to overemphasize their victory, there is not need to type those stuff and more in capital letters.... Use game taunts...

@Ant you said you can't do anything about taunts, theres is not an option to you in the server to disable mature taunts? Like the one in setting menu.....also I've seen server where they have bad words censored even the Spanish ones with ****** instead of the words, I don't know if you can choose what words to remove...

yo i saw this too it writes ***** or you can choose what it will write problem is only for example when you write Assault it writes ***** here too cos of ASS in the word :D btw. i think pms are fine but its true lot of people is pissed when you kill them with pm. I have nothing against it only thing wich can piss me is when for example you play hard map and as for example paladin r3 you are more usefull then some low lvl player wich kill ya then the game get harder but ok you can still kill him too just low lvl protect make it a bit impossibru without face hugger :D

The problem with censorship is that it's not bullet proof.

Sure I can block out the "owned" text into "****" or "good fight"
But then people can bypass that using "0wned" (that's a zero), or ÒWÑÉÐ, or OWND.

Sure I can check for phrases with matching o,w,n,e,d character patterns, but then you'll censor too much. Sentences like "Who is the owner of that pet?" or "Glitching is frowned upon" will be converted to "Who is the ***** of that pet?" or "Glitching is ***** upon". As you can see an innocent question could result into a funny/possibly insulting censored question.

In the end, I do think it is annoying when people have poor sportsmanship (both losing and winning), but I wouldn't get bent out of shape over this. It's a subtle gesture that can easily lead to a flame-war, but I recommend that you shouldn't add fuel to that flame. Most of the time, they say those things because they seek for a reaction from you.

And yes, it's best not to mention names here. Majority of the times, it's not helpful to mention names. It doesn't contribute anything to the conversation. It only points fingers at a particular person, and it will possibly make that person upset if they see that text. And most likely will become defensive about it, too.
Please take that advise seriously. You can look back at this ever-changing discussion. You'll find that approximately a quarter of these posts are either people bashing others or defending for themselves.
The difference between successful people from others is
not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.

I like the analogy, but please don't let ME dissuade you from trying chocolate hamburgers or spaghetti covered with chocolate sauce. It is still good! :clown:

I understand Franky, and in some ways player monsters take away from the whole adventure / survival theme of monster evolution, by allowing people to spawn as monsters behind your forces and possibly ruin a game you could have very well won. But like i said, It does serve a good purpose to balance out the wait time between res's, for the impatient, and kind of like a second chance for them low levels who die frequently and don't come to the server to play against an infinite onslaught in the iso combat zone, with which many maps don't even sport a iso combat zone at all.

Other then that, the only problem i find with them, is that player monsters lead to over harsh decisions from living players they've killed(kickvoting or bashing of said player)

i agree with what vinc said about dedicated pm being the greater problem and ant also acknowledged he wanted to work on that part a bit more. when i talk about pm's i am refering to both dedicated and normal pm's, but honestly when i think back to various times when a pm annoyed me i must say a good number of those times they were dedicated. at least with normal pm you have to chance to keep them on your team by helping them stay alive or get to a resurrection event, but with dedi you don't have those options they just keep coming and coming and that totally changes the face of the game, a change i can understand why some would like that, but to me it just gets in the way of the kind of game i want to play, but that's just my preference. i look forward to see what ant does next, and i must say the coins are awsome. i played as a friendy rocket warlord on torlan yesterday and blasted the hell out of the opponent monsters, and it was a total blast and a good time.
