Can we please stop accussing people of being hacks cheaters whatever. If you suspect someone of hacking simply goto spectate mode and record a demo. To accusse someone of hacking for an extended period of time is only an interuption of the game. Get on with it and play. Either that or bring proof to the table and it will be dealt with the appropriate way.

I'm down with Bomzin. The doufuses who spend all their time bitching about hacking are more detrimental to their team than any hack on the opposing team. I think a lot of players scream "HACKER! HACKER!" to hide the fact that they secretly blow goats.

After I had that shout out over there I got all these PM's telling me they ll "show me how" so I could be like "everyone else" and its "no big deal most of the mods know about it" :cherry:


I have my own linux server running, as we speak, I've tried these "programs" I know what they do how they work.Its very easy to spot.

Load up 3-4 people on your own server and "speed hack: watch the pings go up on every person on the server. It will build packet loss so bad the server will just start resyncing over and over like it did yesterday on Red planet. Its easy to spot probaly no way to detect and thats life. Epic doesnt care and its the reason I wont buy any more of there games until they prove they have blocked at least the basic cheats that have been open since UT99.

Red Planet is a very bad example . It always lags with 32 peeps regardless of srver. It always has.

I'm not saying they are not out there joe. It is an issue with almost everygame I have everplayed on-line. Greifers are dealt with. Just bring it to the proper place. Me I'm going for the slow hack that way the speed hacks will just be moving way to fast to hit me. :cheers:

Needless to say 90% + of the time when hack is being called . It is not so .

LOL, 90%. Definitely a lot of accusations bu tlittle proof.

When a player is called a cheater I look to the accuser for proof, which would be a demo; an exception might be three senior members of the clan or org who run the server, all spec'ing and agreeing that that the cheater is for real. No demo, no credible specs, then I ignore the accuser. Of course, I'll pay more attention to the accused playe,r depedning on who is calling who a cheater. I know when someone is boting but I don't say anything in public without proof in my hands, especially not on The World's Greatest ONS Server ™ where you've got the admin playing most every day.

The best method to get rid of the botters is to bring complaints to the right place, as Bomzin has stated. It really is the best method bcause (1) The clan wants guests to keep accusations private, and (2) by contacting the admin and his minions you trigger the release of a massive investigation that will thoroughly examine your claim And, don't forget, next to drinking beer, nailing botters are what UT players live for.

For the amount of time I’ve played on the Spam Vikings server. I found the hacker bickering level rather low. At times I’ll mouth off my teamwork speech, but that’s as far as I’ll take it. Players just have to remember that it’s teamwork that wins games, and not skilled players. Sure, having mad skills helps you survive a little longer, but it’s not what wins games.

As for Baraban, he's a skilled player. Although, whenever he starts his spawn camping kick. I declare open season on his tail until I feel that justice has been served. After that I’m back to building and defending nodes.
