Would DW enjoy Sins of a Solar Empire?

As promised on Ventrilo, here are links to the Demo and some You Tube reviews and presentations of the Sins of a Solar Empire game.

Sins is a 4X Real Time Strategy game, like a cross between Civilization, Homeworld, and Starcraft. The game feels like a slow-paced RTS but it has the 4X strategic elements that Civilization players love without the micromanagement, allowing you to play 4X games quickly. It isn't an RTS clickfest and you'll have time to contemplate strategy, but you can't take too much time off either. If you enjoy managing scarce resources and deciding how best to allocate them while also making combat decisions, this game will probably be right up your alley.

I've played several online multiplayer matches in 3v3, 4v4, and an occasional 5v5, and it's fine for online multiplayer with most games being decided in under an hour-and-a-half. Consequently, clans are forming for the game.

The system requirements are relatively modest, the game is relatively bug free, the user interface is crisp, and the game is devoid of annoying copyright protection programs that invade your PC.

- thanks for the option, tried it and it's a big no go for me, even tho I do enjoy the tec and tac idea of it, but the manual movement limitations makes half of the whole idea be primitive- you know what I Mean.. buttons to push..etc..

I have no idea what exactly you're referring to. I can say that the game is more about empire building and making strategic decisions and less about combat micromanagement.

think he means for an example to get youre fleet to somewhere you have to click drag press button for move(or click it) click where you want them to go

i also found this annoying

Yeah, but you don't have to do that for every individual ship, just the fleet leader itself or select them all as a group. Is there an alternative to that?

I don't know - I might play a game with you (I'm n00b though). As much as I support Stardock, SoaSE ended up being very average for me. I prefer more tactically-oriented RTS games, such as StarCraft, Company of Heroes, or World in Conflict. If you like patient games though, I wouldn't mind playing a game of Alpha Centauri, Civilization IV, Europa Universalis III, or even Chess and Wei Qi.
