I also get very similar error for many other servers i try to join so there is a good chance that fixing it here will save me a lot of headache.

Sounds like a problem on your end , not the server - particularly since you get it on other servers as well. I used to get critical errors alot and it took me a long time to track it down (I reinstalled and repatched the game - I replaced some memory). Eventually I think I tracked it down to a bad power connection to my hard drive.

You may want to reseat all of you power connections and data cables - this may help.

Yeah that happens to me occasionally too. It's a real pain because it happens randomly and shuts UT down completely and then that error message comes up. All I do usually is close the error box and start UT up again. If I'm unlucky it'll happen another couple of times in the next hour but most times it never happens again.

I never thought it was the server, in fact I assumed it was my computer. I play on a laptop so I get pretty anxious that it's overheating and put all those little problems down to that. I'd love to know what it is that's causing it but as it happens so randomly I can never investigate it because everything seems fine afterwards. Plus I'd never know what to do anyway.
