I've bought the anthology and can tell you its a solid buy but for one caveat: The installer is flawed. When you install you chose which games to install, but if you want to add/subtract one later its all or nothing. You cant install Just UT2004 today and then add just UT99 later.

Otherwise theres no perversion of the original product, the folder it installs the games too maintains the structure the games would have otherwise, my old UT2004 install looks the same as the UT2004 folder in the Unreal Anthology folder. I'm not sure if they altered the installer much but one real nice thing about it is that my game hasn't complained about inserting a CD yet, used to happen every so often with my old UT install.

Also the CD makes a good wakeup CD, first track is real nice for the application. Something to start the day off right =)

Wish it included UT2003... that was an awesome game. Fucktones of moded servers for that.

Personally I'd rather just buy UT2004 again as you don't need a CD key for UT99 and the single player games suck but eh, for $15~ its nice to have a DVD with them all. You can get it on Steam BTW.

Tip: If anyone buys this game, be careful with the CD Key. I bought it for my girlfriend so she could play online, but we had a nightmare installing it. After e-mailing Medway, they said i should check that i hadn't put any 1's in as they were not 1's but actually i's even though they sure as hell don't look like i's! After searching on the web, it seems this is a common problem. I didn't have this problem with my UT2004 as it's just the game and the Key is written(very sensibly) in capitals.
Oh, and we got it for £8. Should have been £10 but got a couple of quid knocked off. Rip off Britain. Love it! :cussing:

I bought Anthology a few months ago for 19.99 (tax not included) b/c I lost my old Unreal 2k4 Edition. It works great for me. I just install and pick the Unreal version game I wanna play. There are 4 versions including the original but I never install the other 3. I can even use the same CD key from my old Unreal 2k4. Awesome isn't it? Now I can play as my same old character from before and have finally met up with some old lost/found friends. Luckly the old brain still has a good memory otherwise I would have forgotten the old key code. But yeah. A price of 9.99 sounds good to me.

Luckily I never had a problem with the game that required me to reinstall. I assume that I will have to download all the patches and what since this is the original right? I want to put this on my new PC since the other wasnt all that great, will UT2k4 work with Vista?

I have both the anthology and the editors edition ut2004. Lost CD's alot and i upgrade computers consititnly. Im using Vista now and you wont have any problems beside the usaul vista issues but the game works fine.

Heya skytech. You wont need to install the latest patch or the bonus pack thing, they come installed by defaul I believe (all I've had to download with the anthology install was maps and texture packs, not stuff for bonus pack vehicles like the cicada etc)

For those of you curious as to how the anthology is different from the other installs like the CD's and editors choice DVD here's the anthology menu that's been mentioned:

No you do NOT have to use it to launch whatever game you want, you can either create your own shortcut or use the one from the start menu that goes right to UT2004.

I'll bet you could just cut out the ut2004 folder and move it between installs same as a regular one. If you want/need to do that Id suggest you get the CD-Key changer which allows you to set the CD-Key into your registry and switch between several if you have a need.

Well i most of gotten ripped off cuz my anthology only has 3 games all together. All i have is Unreal 2, Unreal Gold, and UT2004.

Hey all I got an problem I hope maybe one of you can help me with, me = pc noob. I ordered that anthology and just got it today. I tried to install it and just after it started to install it gave me this error message:

"CRC error: The file C:\Unreal Anthology\DirectX\BDA.cab doesnt match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor."

So um what is going wrong here? Do i got to change a directory name or something else? Or is the game F**ked up? Any help is apprieciated.
