i'm not really familiar with this term.
sometimes i find maps with windows that you can shoot link thru it without having monsters hitting u. is that glitching? if not, forget what i said.
i just feel it's unfair to the monsters (haha) since they are getting hit without even knowing what's happening.
what is the definition of glitching?

A glitch is were u can shoot the monster but he can't shoot you , heres the kicker , as intended by the map maker and admins .
All glass that takes a couple people linking to shoot is acceptable , being outside the map bounds or under the map is not .

Shooting through static meshes (i.e. grates, windows, etc.) by multiple linked players may or may not have been intended by the map maker. It's impossible for them to test it when making the map. If the admins (or possibly player consensus) feel the created advantage is too great on some maps, they can be fixed.

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who read binary, and everyone else.
4013 is only a FAD
And 2989? Well that's just BAD

IMO, linking through windows/glass should always be considered glitching. It's a side effect of how the link gun works with multiple linkers. I can only think of a few instances where this was an intended part of map design, and where it is, it's hard to see "Let me put in this secret room where I can shoot for free XP" as a justifiable rationale.

Glitching...the broad definition is using a map feature or in some cases an unknown fault, in a way in which the map maker never intended. Take for example most of the DeathMatch maps we use in MM. Those maps were never created for use with a translocator. Therefore, there were many places that players should never go that were accessible via the trans. It takes quite a bit of work to alter maps for MM so they are "safe", but some spots do go unnoticed and those we fix as we find them.
Glitching is:
1) You're in a spot on the map where you can shoot out but the monsters can't damage you in return.
2) The Under side of any map
3) You're in any location where you appear to be "standing on thin air"
or there is a lack of textures or terrain.
4) You're anywhere on any map and an Admin tells you to get out and stop glitching!
Please remember...
It is forbidden to glitch on all the DW servers and is a bannable offence!!
I realize that item #4 is somewhat subjective, but like I said, we do our best to find all those spots before the map hits the servers. If an Admin warns you that you're glitching, that's the final word! No debates, no matter who you are or how long you've been playing. You must get back onto the normal playing field immediately or face the consequences.
Regarding "shooting through the glass"...I agree with Wail...that is glitching. However, there are currently a very few maps on the MM servers where this is allowed. If you're in doubt, please ask an Admin If there isn't one readily available, be safe and don't glitch!

Very nice definition KK and I agree with you and Wail about the glass. there is a couple of maps that new map makers are making that have shoot through glass. good maps but they need that fixed. as I said before names are hard to remember off hand so I will try to get it played in the next day or so and get a map edit list started. 3

No shame, no dishonor, will run away to fight another day!

If you make a edit map list i can help out with the editing, in most of my maps where movers are used i attatch blocking volumes to the door/glasswindow etc, and it seems to stop it as many have complained about ''Omfg i cant shoot throo glass come n link me moar guyz''
