akbal once again crashed this time before it loaded

It's probably too late now, but the UT2004.log entry is always useful ;)

I've never seen AkBal crash before btw

Oh Akbal is a nice challenge! Just as hard as Kotam >:) Maybe that's why you never see it :(

Akbal is one of my "must do" challenges. One day, I'll beat that map, then find a new challenge :)

I heard of a "Crash" map that was hell to the most hardcore players. If they ever put that back on the list, that'll be next.

Unfortunatly, not all the players are looking for challenging maps but rather easy experience so it's a bit hard to beat these maps when we never play them :(

no the server crashed

and this map is usually played when im on thats why you dont see them as often...its godly exp for me and some high levels when its only us out fighting

Akbal is NOT broken!

The inherent nature of the RPG has always been a bit unstable, therefore the server crashes once in a while. I might add that both MM's crash considerably less than most, thanks to DW>Wraith's excellent management along with code tweaks from DW>Snaggle and some top flight coders in our community.

Statistically, if you play on MM a lot, then eventually you will see crashes on every map, so please don't go braying to the UT world that a map is broken! Perhaps your luck is bad, bigws...are your life insurance premiums paid up? I have played Akbal many times since it's been put on the server. It hasn't been changed for quite some time. It's a stable map and quite the challenge even for my server 1 Weapons Master! Love it and wish there were more like it! :)

the reason i said its broken is because its crashed the last 2 times ive played it...but i may just be having a bad vorp streak with maps at this moment so i will remain quiet for now but i think it may have been altered when wraith changed the map voting system and thats why i think its been crashing but idk

You have finally hit on a logical idea, bigws...you don't know! The map voting system has absolutely nothing to do with how a map plays nor does it change anything about any map.

Just for the heck of it, I looked at the current version of Akbal. I didn't see anything wrong with it to make it more prone to crash when loading up. I did see a mover that brings down spikes that are set to crsh whenever it is bumped, so I decided to remove that, as if it crushes monsters, its not a good thing at all to happen. I rebuilt the map, didnt add anything else to it, nor took out anything but that one mover. I will have it up on the server late tonight or tomorrow sometime.

There was a trap in that map?! awww I missed it :(

One more thing, please don't modify that map too much. I still need to beat that map. It's one of my goals (along with many default maps like Desert Isle, Iron Deity, etc...) I must accomplish at Monster Mash :)

Also one of these days, I'm going to kill Luci & the mini boss with the shield gun hehe.
