Hey all,
I got the orange box today in the clearance at Circuit City. I'm hella excited.
I know Mike, Cheap, and KK have it - anyone else play?
I'm also jazzed that I get peggle extreme and Half Life 2: Lost Coast for free DL from steam too. Anyone else get those?

Nice!
When you're ready, we can help ya with getting some of those pesky achievements out of the way in TF2!
As for Peggle Extreme...no time...HL2...no time....etc. etc. ;) I've looked at them...but haven't invested any time in seriously trying to play...soooo many games...soooo little time!

Life is too short for fun...
That's why in games we die a million times :P

... if you can't run UT2004 on good settings I wouldn't try to get HL2 or Portal to run very well. Nowadays my auto-detect graphics always sets everything to max, even crysis. (Shame I have 1.8 of the 3.2 ghz CPU power required...)

You'll probably get around the same frame rate you get in UT2004 for TF2 - although it depends on how busy the server you're on is - except in heavy firefights, where my low-spec comp can easily drop below 10fps. Portal runs absolutely fine though, and I haven't tried HL2 on it.
As for the actual games, I know most people really enjoy all of them. Portal is brilliant, if heart-breakingly short [/pun], TF2 is pretty fun, but so far HL2 has been a bit so-so for me. But is it worth the money? Hell yeah.

So far I have not tried portal, hl2, or peggle extreme, but i have played tf2. At first try I like it, but I have not played it enough yet to come to a full opinion. It seems to me to love the gamer you have to figure out what class works best for you and how you like to work with others.
I'm still hooked on Crysis wars. And tomorrow my new WD black drive comes and I can install vista 64 bit (I finally snagged an install disc from ebay).

TF2 is a very fun and entertaining game. I like to play the Doktor (medic) and uber people up
but primarily like to play as a Pyro (childhood memories come flooding back) and wait around corners and "light" people up. :D
Check that...did I say I "like" to play...make that I "liked" to play. Started to have problems with Steam I think after one of the updates and could only intermittently log into servers. Texotic
tried to help me out, but I didn't have the time or patience to work it out.
Maybe one of these days I'll re-install it and see if things have resolved themselves. Would be
fun to play on the DW TF2 server.
