Where is Grit Nights?

See the thread title. Why has this map been removed from the rotation?
I appreciate the effort to keep things fresh and put new maps in rotation, but Grit is a cool map with a lot of polish to it, much better than most of the maps currently in rotation. Any chance on getting it back in or an explanation on why it was taken out?

Dead and buried I hope :colors:
It did seem to lag bad maybe why it has left the building. Although Utilitarian is still on and I get about 10 fps max on that map.

Pffft. Must be your computer. I have no problems with Grit Nights or Utilitarian. ONS-Verge is a horrible slideshow, but that's about all I can think of at the moment as maps that play really poorly.

Did you guys know about the skill test hidden in that map? If you go to the pyramid in the very back center of the map there's an entrance between the two sphinxes and inside is a movement skills challenge that (from a flythrough in observer mode) will net you a Deemer and a couple other things... haven't been able to figure out how to get through it yet, it's tough.

Yup. That's one of the reasons I've been itching to play it. I also want to look around for the underground rail, and try out the shield.

Hi Wail, unfortunately the server is not performing as well as I would like it to, and Grit now gets too laggy to even play midgame.
But don't worry, I'm working on an FX-60 server right now. In 2 weeks or so, things will be MUCH different, and Grit will be back.

Praise the FX-60. That will cost a nice junk of change, but will be well worth it. I am not sure what HDD usage is like on the server side, but do you use any of the WD Raptors? or even SCSI?

HD matters not with a single server machine. The only time the hard drive is accessed is upon loading of the map. After that, it's all CPU baby.
Got the FX-60 to 2880. FSB 260, so DDR 5200.
I hate lag, can you tell?

Excellent Overclock! If you don't mind, what type of mobo and ram are you using, and what type of proccessor is it replacing. I currently have my 3200+ Overclocked from 2.0-2.3 with my DFI Nf4 Ultra-D board, but am to lazy to spend the immense time trying to get a higher OC. Just wish prime 95 did not need 10+ hours to determine if it is a stable system. I am hoping to get a 4400+ soon, along with that excellent new 7900 GT to replace my X850XT.
 Hurray for OCing

Wow, that's a pretty nice OC... what are you using for cooling?
