Dragon Monsters for Monster Mash

Happen to pass by epic forums and saw this link.

It look awesome, probably need fixing works to work better at Monster Mash.

I'm alittle concerned how much they'll slow my machine down...or hamster wheel :P

i could never bring my self to kill a dragon...lol which means i would prob get eaten every round if they were on the server

Yeah I heard about this recently, I tried them offline today and they look really pretty. Unfortunately they have a couple of rather major issues:
  • They eat my frames like no other monster
  • They don't stop chasing you down until you kill them, and their movement speed is the same, if not faster, than a player. This basically means you chuck flak in their face while they try (in vain) to melee you to death

I also read in the forums about how the hitscan box is pretty small on the dragons and if you shoot them in the head or tail, that the bullets go thru and it doesn't collide with the creature. I was thinking about replacing the quake monsters with these and now I think I will pass on it. They look pretty, but I'm afraid alot of players would have a hard time with framerates. Since we have alot of creatures that can pile up at times, and they see it as lag, because they run graphically challenged computers, having the dragons take the quake monsters place will make it alot worse...

If the hitscan collision were to be fixed I think they would make nice accessories to wave 16, people have been talking of making Lucifer harder and these Dragons could be the monsters Lucifer "summons" as someone mentioned in another post.. FPS shouldn't be an issue with a maximum of 4 Lucifer's and a few Dragons, It says on the site there health is configurable :P
