In game Music too loud??

If you're experiencing a twinge when you're in game and you find that you can't turn down the soundtrack volume (even at setting #1 on the slider, it's too loud!) I have the solution!
You will need to edit your default configuration file as follows (this is for Windows XP users):
NOTE! Always backup up your original config files BEFORE you start tinkering!!
1) Go to your Program Files folder (or where ever you have installed UT3)
2) Open the Unreal Tournament 3 folder
3) Open the folder labeled "UTGame"
4) Open the Config folder and locate the file called "DefaultGame.ini" Right click on this file and select "Properties"
5) At the bottom, look for "Attributes". You will note that the file is currently "Read Only". You will need to un-check this box
in order to edit the file, then click "OK".
6) Now, double click on the "DefaultGame.ini" file and the config will open as editable text in Notepad. Be very careful here as you can accidentally change something and cause your game to crash or not launch at all.
7) Once you have the file open, scroll down until you find the section (it's not too far from the top of the list: [UTGame.UTMusicManager]
8) Where is says "Music Volume=0.36" is where you will want to change the value. I set mine to 0.20 which gave me a nice "background" volume at setting 1 on the volume slider. I did not change the "StingerVolumeMultiplier=1.1" at all.
9) After making the change, click on "File" at the top of the window, then click "Save".
10) Once you're done editing the configs, I recommend returning the file to "Read Only" status (see Step 5).
11) Close up the folders and you're ready to play! :compress:
