My real name is Mike. I just turned 30 March 26th and I am a structural engineer by trade. I have been playing Unreal since the very first one. UT was all the rage and I reserved UT2004 before it hit the shelves but barely got to play. I started the family thing many years ago and it consumed all my free time. I recently got laid off after an accident that nearly cost me my life and at about the same time became single. I got fixed up though and I'm just getting back to work. During my lay off however I ran out and bought UT3 sometime late last year just to find out my computer can't hack it and started playing unreal Tournament 2004 again. That is my story as far as UT goes. Thanks for having me. Peace out fellow fraggers!

Hey Savage!
I'm sorry to hear what happened to you, and I'm glad how you recovered from the incidents.

Welcome to the boards!
Wow..that was a Reader's Digest condensed version of your life...and still...you've been through quite a lot more than most! Very glad that things are coming back together for you! :colors:
Even after all this time, UT still rocks! ;) What other gametypes in 2k4 do ya play? And as for UT3...divided opinions on the game...but I personally think it's gotten a bit better with the slow trickle of user modded maps and mutators. And it sure is a processor hog! CPU and GPU!

I am mostly a UT fan and I play just about everything on UT, CTF, DM, INV, you name it, I play it. Oddly enough I never got into the other games except for stuff like Tetris and Bejeweled. Sure I played Wolfenstein 3D and the first Doom and Doom 2. First person shooters were my favorite. I even liked the new doom 3 the first and last time I played it. It had no replay value and neither do the Quake series, not like Unreal and I was never much into games really anyway. UT is the only one that stood out to me. As for Unreal Tournament 3, well I think it is no worse or better than 2004 when it first came out. Many of us forget what it was like when it first came out compared to other games of its time. It was a big power hog and not much better than other games of its time when it came to graphics. I remember, I had to spend big money on a new computer just to play it. If we were to go back and play the game as it was originally packaged, even before the ECE version, we would see that it had no real glamor either. What makes unreal awesome is the object oriented programming style of unrealscript developed by the man which makes it so modifiable and expandable which also makes it a mean power hungry piece of software. Unreal Tournament 3 is no different in that aspect. It can be easily modified to fit your needs, what other game can do that? So it is to be expected that it will be a monster, it is a monster. Our hungry little monster but I love it, UT3 included. By the way, thanks for your concerns but I'm fine. Happy fragging!
P.S. I love the signatures, they are so true!

wow savage, some deep stuff you got going on there, and not just ur past. the stuff you just said about ut3 really put some stuff into perspective. sadly, i didnt play ut2k4 till the past year, but if what you are saying is true, the potential that ut3 has will throw it far beyond ut2k4.
p.s. welcome to the forums, hope to see you in monster mash server 1 (the ONLY server IMO)
