the best mod for ut3 out there, 'Angels Fall First: PlanetStorm', a mod in the top 3 of the
1.000.000$ MSUC (Make Something Unreal Contest).

the mod in general is about epic spacefights and stunning ground action.

well actually its not a mod, its a total conversation.

so here's a quick guide on howto choose classes, weapons, squads, etc.

First of all, if you have windows vista, you HAVE to run the mod in administration mode, otherwise the maps won't show up, or the game itself wont work. (for the RC5 version, dont know if they will fix it, or if it has been fixed yet)
if you got XP, you can run it anyways.

(btw, you DON'T have to download the earlier versions of Planet Storm, you just need the RC5 one, it has got an .exe file, so you just install it like a normal game)
so much for the installation, lets head over to the map, errah.

so, if you have succesfully installed the game, everything works smooth as ass, and you may think "god damn, fuck all of this writing, i wanna play the fucking thing!!"

well then easy there, you got a lot of things coming to you, so be smart, and listen/read ... :P

so, you starting a game, (offline or online, it's the same, for now) you choose the map you want, in this case, it's "Errah" the ground-map. (the reason why i've chosen this one, is that you have to get over more settings at the start of the ground map, if you can handle this one, the spacemap wont be a problem ;) )

..the game started, and you're about to enter your first map in PS! (many guys suffered to get even there, trust me lol)

so the map launches, and you get the first image of the map (errah), when it's loaded, you'll see some hills, and when you press 'fire' (left mouse button) you'll see this screen:

(btw, you can always start that menu by pressing M)

so thats the start-off of the load-out screen.

when you got there, you click on the squad section, (btw, when i took those pics, i started an offline game, without any bots or players, just not to get interrupted, so, theres no squad, but if you join a game with bots or an online game, there will be already a bunch of squads you can join, or just create a squad. (the bots in your squad will cover you, if they're in the near of you)

further, when you clicked on "no item selected" then this will appear:

this is where you can choose your class

when you click on one of the 3 classes, this will appear:

and this is where you can customize your class, there are shotguns, MG's, AA-guns/-rocket launchers, as primary weapons, you can hold up to 2 heavier weapons, and one pistol (you'll get the pistol automatically). for secondary weps you can choose from an Autoturret (sentinel), 4 kinds of grenades (frag, EMP, , smoke, flame, and toxic) Health pack, Ammo pack, Repair gun (multiwrench) and the Suit boost cell (with that, you can run 50% faster, but cant take as much damage. overall, you got 5 slots, 2 slots for primary weapons, and 3 for secondary weapons.
Anyways, just a shitload of an arsenal to choose from.

so, when you have finally found the stuff you like, armored as fuck, then you are ready to go and click on "Deploy"
then this screen will appear:

this is where you can choose your spawn point on the map, the more targets you get (as attacker) the more spawn points will be unlocked, it's much like UT2004's Assault mode.

Remember peeps, this was only for the map "Errah", the ground-battle map. :P

and believe me, "meudeverre, Ixion and Kerrat" (the spacemaps) are so much more fun.. flying a corvette with torpedos, or an attack frigate with a lasorz and rocketz... <3

anyways, guys, its hard to describe, you have to play it and get your own opinion of the game/mod/fuckingpricelessawesomegame!, but as far as i'm concenred, i'll stick to this mod till it reaches the final version.

and still, if anyone needs help of installing, running, playing, figuring out stuff, if there are ANY questions, I WILL be here and help you :)
