Here is a video showing that you can win AbsoluteHell. To much player (especially in server 1) wasn't beleving it was possible.... I guess they where wrong.

BTW in server 2, AbsoluteHell is regurlary played and winned 90% of the time.

I'm pretty much speechless in how smooth that video is. I never seen that map played without looking like a slide-show before. It gave me a new perspective on it. I might consider investing to a new piece of hardware earlier than I originally intended. I'll think on this.

You might have to scrap that video though. Nowadays, server II scoffs at that map. It needs to be beefed up. Once some tests are successful Abs Hell will be updated (hoping to fix the lag problem and the boost the difficulty level)

Pretty cool, though I was hoping to see W14 & 15 as well. "My computer crashed" - Heh.

And yeah Ant, we need to make this harder. I want to see Franky being forced to globe on wave 1.

I got several evil tricks up my sleeves (global traps for say) to replace the meteor shower, but first I want to see if removing the meteor shower fixes the lag problem. Overall, I was kind of disappointed how the meteor shower shows little importance to the map. It doesn't do enough damage where people will hide or globe until the storm wears off.
If it does (beta-6)
Then the next update (beta-666) will include the new traps.
Else If it doesn't (but shows slight improvement)
Meteor shower will still be absent, plus other features will be deleted (keep deleting until lag is fixed)
Else if it doesn't (but shows no improvement)
Meteor shower will come back, and I'll attempt to come up with more ideas in what could be causing the lag.

I was thinking of removing several terrain layers (textures blending over each other on one surface). Of course this looks neat, but I'm guessing this could be the main source that drops people frame rates other than the monsters. But after seeing Franky's video & noticing the smooth gameplay. Is it really a need? Are other people experiencing low frame rates, and do they want some textures to be removed for a faster game?

Hey Ant. I think that could just be your computer. I played it today and asked people if they were suffering from lag ... no one was. I ran it flawlessly and I dont have the best computer (2.93 core 2 duo, 2gb Ram, geForce 9500 GT 1GB cache.) That and my net connection is pretty flawed too (only 2mbps) Instead of remaking you should so just make a whole new one. We need more maps that have you thinking about more than just the monsters, not just remakes XD (We so need to get rid of TrainStation and Bunker etc.)

Nice video Franky :ssmile: .

This map is one of the best maps i have ever played in my life :scool: .
The map is perfect, but the damage of meteors could be instead of 193 hp/s up to 300hp/s.
Trials are perfect, the atmosphere is realistic, i love it :swink: .

I can“t wait to see beta6 :sblush: .

Ant very good job, best mapper ever :salute: .

Apo

I can't believe I watched the entire video. But it was really good gameplay.

Also Ant, don't forget about us, the sensitve medics when you make the map harder. I don't mind tough since I know how to survive under most circumstances.

Nah just kidding, give us hell !!

Crazy video as it truly looks hellish!
Have the map been won before without Franky playing in it?

Ant, besides increasing the damage for the meteors, I think the map should stay the way it is. I wouldn't tamper with a classic too much.
How about a sequel?
