Both/neither of them.
As for a "Build Strategy" of which you should get first? Personally I think a bit here and a bit there is good - Damage Reduction is a percentile based reduction which means it makes each point of HP more valuable. At the same time you get very good ROI for points spent especially with early health bonus points - At 100 health, 5 points spent gives you a 10% increase in total HP. And in general building up HP also makes it easy to buy Ghost sooner, which is something you definitely ought to be looking toward getting ASAP.

As Wail said a bit of balance early on is probably the best, but a some point you should stop buying health and concentrate on maxing other abilities. This is particularly true because it becomes harder (i.e. takes longer) to level later on, and so many of the other abilities help you to get points and experience more so than health.
That is... It's better to get decent score/experience most waves and die, than to stay alive most waves and get crappy score/experience.

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who read binary, and everyone else.
4013 is only a FAD
And 2989? Well that's just BAD

you can look at it from 2 ways, dependent on your class/fight style. More HP makes it easier to resist things like Angus and Mole's since they pretty much ignore most damage reduction anyway, however damage reduction makes being hit by projectiles alot less painfun, and DR+HP gives you a good balance between surviving all monsters melee and projectile. But ur still screwed against Luci or a big boulder

Most player in the servers will tell you that you should max DR before HP. I think DR is more important then HP, but like everyonne said it all depend of your gaming style. There is 3 general way to do it:
Unbalance way:
Just max DR and don't baught any HP until DR is at 350 (max).Alot of player do that because it's simple and efficient in some map (but not every map).
Balance way:
You can built-up DR and HP at the same time in a 2DR:1HP or 1DR:2HP ratio. Eventually you should reach max DR before max HP because DR max value is lower then HP max value. This is probably the best way to handle ALL possible situation/map but it is harder to acheive then the unbalance way.
Wrong way:
Maxing HP without adding any DR (don't go there, you will just waste your stats points and get frustrated trying to understand how the hell you keep dying with 1000 HP by one hit LOL)
Just another thing about the stats. Alot of players don't know how to start so to make thing easier I divided the stats into 3 categories:
1. Offensive stats: Weapon speed(WS) and Damage Bonus(DB)
2. Defensive stats: Health point(HP) and Damage Reduction(DR)
3. Support stats: Adrenaline(Adren) and Ammo Bonus(AB)
Order of priority: Offensive stats > Defensive stats > Support stats.
Always start with the offensive stats/skill then when you feel powerfull enaugh to kill some stuff starts building Defensive stats/skills. Then when you feel resistant enaugh to handle a couple of hits start building up support stats/skills.

True. I was trying to generalized the process as most has possible but indeed AM need more adrenaline and ammo compared to other classes so to be more specific:Dynadin wrote:On a side note to what Franky said if you are an adren master it is a good idea to ignore defence stats until later on, at least in my opinion :)
MM: Defensive stats > Offensive stats > Support stats.
AM: Offensive stats > Support stats > Defensive stats.
WM: Offensive stats > Defensive stats > Support stats.

I once was stupid enough to buy hp first. The Newbie Pains :scry:DW_FrankyTheFly wrote:Most player in the servers will tell you that you should max DR before HP. I think DR is more important then HP, but like everyonne said it all depend of your gaming style. There is 3 general way to do it:
