These just cheesecake shots? Cuz they sure as hell don't look like screenshots. Even so, it's damn ridiculous.

Given the blast on those turrets, I think they're trying to make the levi a more viable vehicle. Right now it's mostly a distraction element, and in pro games not even that.
That said, that may just be how the gunners sit when it's deployed. When undeployed they might be closer in on the body; though if not you've actually got a useful arc of fire, unlike now.
Also, those are in the classic E3 PC game shot style. It's an ingame shot, sure...but what they don't tell you is they used a $50 thousand machine to render it.
...that said I'll have to see what a supercluster does to my framerate. ;)
Now then...regarding what they've done:
I'm SHOCKED at their change in lighting style for the game. I think it's cool, because it harkons back to Descent 3, and in fact uses the same lighting style at that game. I've always loved it and think UT2007 looks very, very sexy indeed. I won't buy it at 1.0, but I'll probably buy it once they've actually got a stable release version out.

Some video from E3. I am concerned about their mapping comment.

You guys see that Necirs Walker? The big 4 legged thing in the background? Wonder how much armor they get...

Looks faster and more frenetic; something I feel is a detriment to the series. Certainly the brand of action is what makes it UT but if it were a little slower, I think it would be more fun. That's one of the things that makes Halo fun. You can actually be a successful sniper.
