Two questions...

First question:
Why was DM-Underworld battle arena removed from the server?

I was just wondering why.
I hope this is nothing to do with a similar map that was submited recentelly, and mine was replaced, or was it that it's too hard?

Second question:
Where did you guys download the new dinosaur monster pack you using?
Just would like to have it.

Thanks.

Apparently it got removed due to the intense lag it was causing and the numerous amount of server crashed reported on it. I got this info directly from KarmaKat.

Your map wasn't replaced. As primarily stated in your previous maps, that was too large. People were getting significantly low frame rates around waves 12+ since it was completely open and players could render everything all at once.

Then another reason is the projectile life span. Due to the high number of projectiles, people were getting lag and packetloss.

You need to make sure you make smaller maps, and avoid making one open room. Static meshes do not conceal pawns from client's machines. BSP brushes and zoning does.

It also wasn't hard at all. People could easily camp in the isolated rooms for all 15 waves.

& no, this decision wasn't all Karma. It came to an agreement from multiple people myself included.

Lag has allways been a major problem on maps.
Unfortunatelly there is no simple solution for it.
Even very powerfull computers sometimes can lag.

I guess you're right, I'm going to have to make smaller maps, with more rooms.
Also move on to the next step and make maps that are more visual appealing, rather than just boxes with a few meshes in them.

Have to make my next map a pretty good one, something monumental... If only I knew where to download 3D models that are supported by uteditor?!

I have an idea for my next map, but need lots of statue meshes... like an angel statue, armours, shield and swords, etc...

Thanks for the link...
That's a pretty good website.
Have you checked the doom monsters on it?

They look interesting, but the 94 megs seems like a fairly long download.

It should be fine... the monsters are high poly, and have very good textures... but the queens and titans lag more than those monsters.

I had them for quite a while now, and have about 30 doom monsters per wave, as for queens and titans only 15 per wave... and they lag a lot more than the doom monsters.

The doom monsters don't spam projectiles as often as queens and titans, and perhaps that is the reason why the game doesn't lag with them... well, at least no where near as much as those two.

By the way, where did you download the titans that grab rocks from the ground that are the same colour as the floor texture?
I would like to have those guys.
