In about 3/4 of all the games i played today, I had a packet loss. Is there a way to stop them from happening so often?

Did you run a ping trace back to the server? I use ping plotter free version.

Holiday weekends like these I expect poor internet service since, in my experience, IT people do not work weekends nights or holidays.

its mostly on lucifer waves where i sometimes can't see the projectiles that i shoot and others' as well as lucifer's fireballs, but it fixes itself after a while and then i can't see projectiles for a while again and the cycle continues. Also, the packet losses usually happen when i'm on a huge killing spree with my AM then i die.

As an IT person, I strongly disagree, nights and weekends is when a lot of the after hours work gets done, so as to not interrupt a businesses production during business hours.

I'll partially give you holidays, but depending on the position, you can bet on a few highly hung over people working the NOC on a holiday :)
