Hello guys and gals, I’m kind of new playing online Onslaught UT04 and I’m having more fun than I ever thought. Now to the subject; since most of you have more experience than me I will like to know
Which character do you recommend the most, robot, reptile, human, male or female?
For now I’m using a robot, but maybe there are some other characters better than that.
Any tips?

There is no diffrence among charecters in terms of abilities. The only thing that changes is the way the charecter behaves, the slim female humans do flips when jumping in certain ways which although you dont see your view changing it screws with the way people try to shoot you as they dont know where too shoot. I think faraleth does some crazy things too.

Just be the character you like best. Simple as that.

Character size and appearance also play a role. Axon and Gorge are the most intimidating characters in the game. I've thought about using them for that reason.

A lot of good players force models anyway, so it does not matter what you're playing. I play the Opelia skin because I think it is the coolest looking one. Not because the female charatcters do flips or anything.
I don't force models, because I like the variety and seeing what skins people chose. I've completely tuned out any flips or moves charaters make.
Go with Wraith's advice. Pick who you like.

Forcemodelling makes every character look the same. In theory, this is a feature designed to help out people with marginal computers as it's faster to load a map when only one or two models are being used (usually Gorge and Rylisa), but mostly it's [ab]used by "pro" players to give themselves a bit more of a competitive edge (in this case, higher visibility of their opponents).

Well actaully you have to modify your config files to achieve it. The way i have it set i only load one model. Yes it does help picking them off at a distance, some of the skins have the military uniform which actaully blends quite well with the terrian backround. Chiefly i did iit becuase of the flips, damnidge even made a comment along the lines 'since i used the female models i have not been getting killed as much'. Single quotes are becuase i dont remeber it verbatim.
Hmm, thanks for reminding me about the female model maybe thats why sometimes they have a bleached out color and i dont know what team they are on.

Well I tell you what, I've done the test and it seems to help just a little bit.
I've notice other having a little more trouble trying to kill me; I mean they kill me at the end but not as easy as it use to be :bootyshake:
The other thing I notice for example is in Dreamus, when I attempt to go for the spider mines in the Core I can get to them with a single double jump, which it was not possible for me before. So maybe I’m getting better or is the character, who knows but one thing is sure, I’ll stick to the female body :love4:
Thanks everybody for your response.
