About 8 years ago I decided to sacrifice a month of playing well to develop a new keyboard setup for myself to play Q2 and it worked pretty well. But now I can't play any other way. But I am thinking of changing for UT2007 so I was wondering if anyone else has any funky setups. Here's mine.

my hand rests with
pinky on lcontrol
next finger on shift
next does 1,Q,A and Z
index does 2 to 5, werty and any other keys (I'm 6'7" so I reach ok)
thumb on alt

1-5 are weapons 1 to 5
Q to Y are weapons 6 to 0
shift strafeleft
alt straferight
A jump
Z crouch
X secondary fire
C toss weapon
Caps 1st/third person view
ctrl teleporter (or grapple in Q2)

on the mouse
left fire
right forward
middle back (the little button above the scroller on the MX510 and 518)

Hmm.. Off the top of my head...

Right handed, so mouse is right with normal stuff. The new mouse has two side buttons, so those are mapped to link and mines.

Left hand sits on the keyboard.

G - Left
H - right
J - back
K - forward
space - jump
right alt - crouch
L - avril | last weapon
, - change seats
U - use
F - voice
Y - best weapon

don't know what else... sure there are some..

M - second honk | taunt
N - first honk | taunt

the whole thing is based on the thumb and the no-name finger (before the pinky) strafing right and left. For me it's the wasd that I can't get my head around. I don't think I'll ever be able to go that way. But honestly I think the only thing that's really holding me back at this point is that I used to play a lot of flight simulators and I use invert mouse. If I change nothing else I think I'm going to try and change to standard mouse. That will mean a month of bad stats of course, and maybe a bit of vomiting... but it'll be worth it.
