Me and Zeus are working on a variation of this map. It is planned on being an additional map to the one already on the server. I am not sure how long it will take before the first beta is out. We are going to try an Egypt theme.

:cheers: Sounds like a cool idea to start from scratch. Something hilly and perhaps challenging for the tank aim/control. A mix between Crossfire, GridNights and Meadowlands would be awesome.

btw egyptian themes never really seem to work. might want to try something else.

Whatever you do, make sure to put a couple of Cicadas in there, and a few minigun turrets. And don't forget the flak, make a couple of nodes only accessible to people, like node 5 on urban, where the tank can shoot in but can't hit the node. As for egyptian, why don't you try a more... rural setting, like a rural town. Don't see too many of those maps.

Uhhh... It is going to be a "next generation" of Tank Me up. So, the node layout and scale are going to be pretty similar. It is also going to be a majority of tanks. Maybe one hellbender and one scorpion. The problem is if you put in too many fast vehicles than you will need to change the scale of the map.

Also, it will have custom static meshes and custom textures. (Plus, reuse of other stuff)

I have also modelled up a custom tank. We will see if I can get it to work or not.

I've always wanted to see a map that kinda of had an "Eerie" background. Has anyone seen the Silent Hill movie/game? You know how at certain times of the day the whole town turns into a hellish theme? But on this map just have the whole map set to the hellish/eerie time.
I mean; I by no means no how to make maps and am SURE its quite time consuming, but if I knew how I would love to recreate something like this. Would seem fitting for Tank Me Up, it's a city, and BOY there is lots of killing everywhere on this map!

I dunno maybe sometimes i'm just "Artsy-Fartsy" :clown:

Well you should look at these maps at the very least, maybe 'borrow' some textures or models.

General note raised areas like overpasses are usually bad with maps containing tanks, so if your going to use them try to avoid them in middle of a map. Perfect example of it is urban, one tank can really dominate a large section of the map and both primaries.

Wraith, take a look at ONS-Pasargadae (CBP2, I believe). This map has a great theme and it shares a lot of similarities to ONS-Minus (low z-axis differentiation, wide streets, trenches). I don't know if it's TankMeUp-playable as-is, but with tweaking it definitely has potential.
