Finally, Epic decided to drop the lame-ass sports-franchise branding it attempted with UT2003 and carried on in UT2004. Unreal Tournament 2007 is now officially Unreal Tournament 3.

There's also some new screenshots of the BioRifle and a shot showing the Necris Furies dogfighting against a Raptor.

HD version of the new trailer can be found via links in this thread...

These trailers show the Krall -- And, damn, they look nasty. Thank goodness we don't have to fight these beasts in Invasion.

Wasn't the bio rifle supposed to be part of the canister gun?

From what I know from previous hype, yes, but my hope is they tossed the idea of a "Canister Gun" entirely. The BioRifle is the most flavorful of the three weapons, and rolling it up with the other two dilutes its most important characteristic (the flavor). Functionality-wise, The BioRifle could certainly be a better weapon, but it's not tough to improve it. A decent BioRifle would make the Grenade Launcher pretty much obsolete and act like a non-lame version of the Mine Layer (i.e. you can make a minefield, but it's defensive and not offensive like Spider Mines are).

Not to mention it's 99x more likely to find people tossing around mines in DM/CTF if the Bio were effectively the same weapon as the Mine Layer. That's something we don't need to see at all.

So I downloaded the trailer at work, but the hd one wouldn't play, which is wierd becuase the previous HD does play at my work, so I just started downloading the normal one from IGN.

A quick question I have is in regards to something I was reading on Wikipedia - it lists Onslaught as a confirmed gametype in addition to Warfare. Can anyone confirm this?

IGN says "Familiar online modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag will be joined by an all-new Warfare mode among others." I wonder what the "among others" is?

As far as the bio rifle, i like it, as a backup weapon, but I never quite understood how a biological agent could kill a robot? They should have named it "acid rifle" or something.

I viewed the HD trailer using the window media player 10. No problems at all. Tried using VLC and it didn't work, but it did work in the lower res. one.

I used media player classic, its probably some sort of codec you don't have installed properly. I use this one. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_L ... c_Pack.htm

Well, the bio just needs to have a longer life time and more globs on the floor at any one time. I think the limit is 5 currently. My only issue with the name is thats its misleading, the new UT will be the fourth in the series.

There's no limit to the number of globs on the floor that I'm aware of, it's just that any damage causes them to explode and even the explosion of nearby bioglobs detonates bioglobs -- Hence you tend to see them blow up in a chain reaction.

UT3 is fine with me. I consider UT2003/4 the same game even if they might technically be different.

They should have just called it an expansion pack and charged 20$.
