Ok now I'm willing to pay to back this up . Do the ghosting programs work . Or is there an easier way . Alpha you said you could do yours in like 2 hours or something . Don't know how , I swear it took damn near that long to download and install SP2. If they would let you save the SOB before the install atleast you could have it on hand.

-Well Captain, The Windows Cd I got me, already comes with the Service Pack as part of the Setup, wich takes like 25 minutes to complete, and after that lets say another 15 minutes to install my MOBO drives ,video card drives, mp3 player drives, and Power Cinema and the TV and Remote Control Drives .. Thats all I need .. So all comes down to like 45 minutes .. I guess what takes more to install is UT , wich is a waste because as soon as it's done, I go and delete the Maps folder, the Textures, the Static Meshes folder, the Sounds , The Animations Folder-

As for a cloning program theres lots out there, but I can't advise you any better on that , than what you can find yourself.. since I 've never used those.. I did a cloning one time but was only using the ol' disk operating system commands .

What you can do as of right now is set a nice System Restore Point , and call it something you can recall like.. Very First Fresh Reinstall or something like that.. so when the time pass and your pc is all filfty again you can go and very easily and quick at least have a nice SR wich will greatly help, not as good as a fresh reinstall but.. close enough
..

((also you can request the sp2 cd from MS ))

Ah thats funny , see who can get the most spam on their computer . Deepfreeze looks like it's for workgroups for daily resets and not long term use. Why can't I just copy and paste my C: drive onto my external backup . Then just copy it back using DOS , you would think it would work. :clown:

As far as just going back to a setpoint , been there done that ended up doing the full monty again anyway.

Ordering up SP2 isn't a bad idea though.
and after that lets say another 15 minutes to install my MOBO drives ,video card drives, mp3 player drives, and Power Cinema and the TV and Remote Control Drives .. Thats all I need .. So all comes down to like 45 minutes ..
I don't see how u do that in 15. What about your graphix programs , scanner and printer settups , nettworking . All the security updates Windows wants u to take + all the other stuff , winzip winrar dirext X 9 latest , configure programming guides , point ur player back towards the music and let it take all that in and compile it , damn it took me 30+ min for Media Player to sort music. I know there is more ,

Also you delete all your main files and then paste your old map, meshes , ect . folder back in ?

- Well it's the time it takes, Installs drivers in seconds so, why should it take longer.. I dont install Scanners, Printers, Network setup is done by itself when - if I need it .. Winzip ? what for Windows Explorer takes care of zip files.. winrar donesn't requiere installation and it's there already for when I need to use it, DX is installed along with video drivers, don't point wm to any music, I just play it when I want to listen to it - The Security Crap , this depends on everyone but what I do is Turn it Off inmediatly, Turn of Updates, Turn off Antivirus warning , and just leave on Firewall since it doesn't bother that much .. everything else is just anoying crap from Microsoft..

You see , I got 3 Drives , 1 is for Windows , 2nd is for backup, Its where I got all my data- including media, pictures, files , etc etc .. the 3rd is an USB HD thats where I got data that I might need to move around from place to place .. So whenever I got something I wanna save I don't leave it on my first drive (windows) I inmediatle move it to my 2nd drive my data drive.. so whenver I feel like reinstalling windows I just do it without having to worry about looking tru my disk so see what I wanna save before I kill it .. I also have a 4th drive, wich is an old IDE, and this is the exact copy of the 2nd drive but it's well protected somwhere else.. and I update it from time to time to image the one in my pc ...

And well , I don't need those UT folders because , again I already got a UT directory with those folders in the 2nd drive wich is like 12GB +- , All I have to do is, replace the new ini files from the System Folder with the ones I got already fixed and this will point UT to use all the files it wants in the 2nd drive instead of looking to find em in the Drive where it was instaled, ( C:/ ) - Every new map or texture, etc etc that I happen to download from a Game server when playing .. I just extract them and move them to their folders, where will remain forever ..

I find this really practic and it makes you worries free of loosing anything you want , and gives you the freedom to reinstall windows 4 times a day if you so desire..

Re-Installing UT is pretty simple, just get all the files in place and run a cd-key changer program. This will correct the registry files and you will be able to play. The only downside of this method is you can't double click on a map and open it in instant action.
