It's that time of year again.

In celebration of the Halloween season, DW will be creating tombstones for individuals that requests to make their mark on Monster Mash. As you may see in DM-HoldtheCrypt, you may find the old tombstones. If you want to be part of this collection, then post a reply in this thread, stating your epitaph (the words on your grave).

Also, now that we have some new tombstones created by Wail, you may request a specific headstone. If you feel ambitious, then feel free to extract WOSGraves.usx from your cache, and check out the headstones in the editor. You may choose any set of headstones (bottom piece A with top piece C). Also you may request specific textures:

  • Ancient Mossy stone look (greenish organic stone)
  • Ancient Mossy stone look (greenish organic stone) Shiny
  • Stone (gray)
  • Stone (gray) Shiny
  • Dirt (tanish brown)
  • Gold
  • Gold shiny
  • Marble (white)
  • Marble shiny

Unfortunately, the headstones for this year will be limited. The featured map is not outdoors, and there's no place to plant headstones without getting in the way of the players. This year, we're doing plaques on walls within a mausoleum-like map.

Same as last year, we got some rules:
  • No profanity
  • No more than two tombstones per person (you are welcomed to write a tombstone for a friend of yours)
  • No attacks towards another person without their permission. For an example, "Here lies Steve because of his clumsy acts of team killing."
  • No late submissions (deadline is October 14. 11:00 pm EST)

We'll be copying and pasting your text so if you include a spelling mistake, that will be included in your headstone so please double check your grammar.

Here are links from previous years: [/color]

For myself:

DW>KarmaKat

Oh, the Kat! Monster dancer extrodinare!
Has met her Karma (it came from the air!)
A Seeker's high flight that caused great despair.
Began with such a beautiful view,
Ended in blobs of stinking green goo!

and for the nom de jeu:

SVA>Pickle&Onion

Here rests Pickle&Onion
No mere condiment on life's bun!
A long-time Masher of Monsters, so Fun!

Alas, no more patties, ketchup or fries to be found
I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a 'burger today,
but it seems I'm stuck here underground!

I'll leave the textures & such to your discretion, colors here are for display purposes only.

Last year's tombstones will not appear in the new map. However, older Halloween maps with the old tombstones will reappear.

Also, if BrainPan is around to update his HoldTheCrypt map, I believe he'll update his map to place the new tombstones along side with the old tombstones.

I'm not sure if my chosen headstones will work with the new map or if they'd even fit in with the theme of the wall plaques. In that case just use the text.

First one using Gravestone1 - shiny gold for headstone and for the text background:
Seven of 69 was assimilated. Resistance was futile.
In past years, this one was done in a LED-like "digital" typeface.

Second one using Gravestone3 - shiny gold for headstone and for the text background:
Time ran out for 7.a.m. and 7.p.m.
Unlike last year, this one needs no special font.

Thanks Ant!
