Could someone please collaborate on "Damage Reduction" skill?

Damage Reduction:
Damage Reduction control the resistance of inflicted or self-inflicted damage. Each stat point added to this value will increase the resistance to damage by 0.5%.
- Max value: 350 (+175%)

I mean, in Monster Evolution server there is the resistances and it works like this:
Final damage dealt = Initial damage - Resistance
so if you have 70% resistance then the
damage dealt = (100 - 70)% = 30% of initial damage

applying the same rule here would be:
damage dealt = (100 - 175)% = -75% of initial damage = 75% healed each time an enemy hit you which can not be correct...
Could someone please collaborate on Damage Reduction skill?

IIRC it's multiplicative with DR, not additive. Also keep in mind that monsters have their own damage bonus value (which is why Monster Level is important - Monsters receive virtual 'stat points' that are distributed between DB and DR) which directly cancels out damage reduction.
you shouldn't try to compare the resistances from ME with the DR in MM.
In ME the damage the enemy monsters do is always the same (depending on what the mapper did to the specific monster) so when your resistances reduce the incoming damage to 30% you actually got a feeling how much that is. In MM the damage a monster does depends on the monster level. The same monster can do 0 damage at one second and then 300 damage the next second just by one person dying.
Just think of DR as "the more the better" and don't try to find any formula behind it.
Oh and buy your damage first or you will regret it later :sgiggle:

It's the monsters' damage bonus versus your damage reduction.Azmodan wrote:Just think of DR as "the more the better" and don't try to find any formula behind it.
The difference between successful people from others is
not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.
