Yeah i decided to start working on a map that nobody started to think about making. So im going to work on AS-Wangara3. i can give you details of it if you reply back :P

ok, but right now, im trying to figure out whats going to be on the map, so far as objectives, monsters, city structures, etc. :ssmile:

Having a part 3 would be pretty cool. The original Wangara maps were done by Lord Simeon, but I doubt he'll ever make a part 3. It's fair game.

I'm glad to hear someone is interested in continuing the story of Wangara.

Making a sequel done by another mapper is difficult to do. One of the challenging aspects is mimicking the style of the original mapper to make it feel like they belong to the same story.

I would recommend using Lord Simeon's meshes as much as possible. Using static meshes and similar lighting techniques for the space craft in part 2 and some of the skaarj outposts from part 1 will be a good idea.

Another challenge is that you're defining what the Skaarj's homeworld looks like. It's like making a movie from a book. Everyone has a different view in what the book looks like (this means that it'll lead to disappointment when you put it on screen).

I imagine the skaarj world to look more like a jungle (very similar to the UT2k4 introduction jungle scene), others may picture a bit more technology-based (like in Mothership). Or perhaps both like in Altract.
This is where you, as a mapper, come in. You must make a choice.

i always pretended divine was wangara part 3 even though i think you're defending skaarj instead of attacking xD


tbh though, since you haven't done mapping before as you said, you should try other stuff first, then tackle wangara later once you have a hang of it, for the continuity things ant mentioned
