I found this OSM map, OSM-Gauntlet, that looks like a challenging map. I will try and convert it to an ME map.

I think I know why that is. It must be the spawns. I tried it several times on my OSM server -- http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/ ... 4.46:7777/, and can't get the monsters spawns (pupaes and kralls) to appear right. They come out invisible for some of the areas in the map. But it is an interesting map for the most part.

Here are a few screenies:

The main entrance. I made some changes to it. Added trailer boxes and gates/arrows to tell the player where to go.

Then I added spawns by the main entrance to trigger the first gate when killed.

Converting Gauntlet sounds like a fun little map to convert.

I am not sure if you really need arrows to tell players where to go when there is only one way to get out of the spawn area.

Remember not to place monsters too close to the player spawns for that'll cause spawn killing. I recall having that problem when testing Robot Factory.

Regarding to the invisible monsters, are you manually placing the monsters, or are you using the monster spawner?

To DW_Ant,

Well, first of all, I use several mutators in my server, like Bonus Combos, Combo Necromancy V3, Monster Manager, Monster Mutations V3, etc... Will these mutators affect my monsters? I use the same ones on my OSM-NanoClean map but it isn't doing that invisible thing (making my monsters invisible).

And as for the monsters spawns, the ones that seem to trun invisible are the local ones that the author placed in the map. I used the Thing Factory to spawn my monsters and that worked, but like you said, they tend to spawn by the starting point and kill the spawning player.

The xpawn ones that I placed or the ones that I copied/pasted turn invisible too at certain point in the map. After I have done the initial objectives/ordeals, then when I start the next ones, then they disappear (like turn invisible). And I can't see them but they bump me or shoot at me. Plus when I shoot, I don't see the bullets coming out!?!!

Not sure when it will be ready. I can't seem to shake off the glitch that the map has on making the monsters and the weapons disappear. If I post the map, then can some one help me with the problem?

the question is not "How" but "Where"...and the answer is : there must be a safe distance between player spawn point and monster spawn point... so that players wont be killed as soon as they join server...

The problem is that the monsters spawn at randomly at the player start spawn points and does a player spawn kill. And after a while, the player weapon firing anim goes ballistic (glitches - disappears).

cant help you with that, ask Ant, Vip3r and others who are also into "mapping" for Monster Evolution...
