What HAS been happening with the server anyway? It's been down for quite a while now...

A temporary solution:

1) Change the server's IP address
2) Change the server's name to something completely different (i.e. no resemblance to "DW: Monster Evolution")
3) Announce on the forum that trusted users can contact the server admin for the new server IP / name.

This is an IMMEDIATE workaround and should prevent further attacks for the time being.

In any case, it's not beneficial to keep the server down for a lengthy (and currently unknown) period of time. If it's left too long and users are not kept informed, then there'll be no users left by the time the server is put back up - they'll have moved on. Some users have also donated hard cash towards the server's upkeep - although they're not obliged to pay for the service, it would be wise to keep these users sweet by offering an ETA for the server's return and/or trying out my suggested workaround above.

I think everyone just needs to be patient.. This type of thing Isn't just some simple quick fix.
Measures are being put into place to make sure that the hacker cannot hack the server again.
Something of which takes a little while to happen.. So yet again, remain patient while the admin is spending HIS time trying to fix the server..

I've suggested a simple quick fix. If you change the server's IP, then any hacking attempts targeting the old IP address will no longer be successful. Changing the server name to something unrelated to DW: ME means that the hacker will not be able to determine the new IP address of the server. Finally, trusted users are given the new server details and can start playing again - immediately. It's a piece of piss.

The server admin can work on a more long-term solution whilst this workaround is put up. Users aren't going to be patient, especially when no ETA is being provided.
