The author of the original article admits he uses the term rootkit to get more hits. Apparently, it is some kind of drm scheme.

Because you know all PC users are wild pirates.. Arrr!! :salute:

Either way, it raises the question of why a FREE demo program needs to install yet another DRM infection on your machine. And a severely broken one at that.

Yet again the people that do the right thing are the ones that get punished. :banghead:

Can anyone tell me how i can monitor my frame rates etc whilst playing this demo I have it run with everything turned on / maxed and its running perfectly no jumpness or anything.

So now i just want to see what the numbers are :cheers:

bah, all i've been hearing about bioshock is the graphics are so amazing...but so what? if the gameplay doesn't stand out or isn't that great i don't see the point. just watch videos of it or something if graphics are all that matter.
i'm sure the gameplay must be at least decent from all the positive reviews it gets though.

Well, the only reason we are talking about it is because it uses UE3. And it is giving people a decent idea of what type of hardware they are going to need to run UT3.

For instance I have E6300 with 2GB of RAM - pretty powerful even not OCed. However, I just have an older XFX 6600. It chokes on Bioshock.

Which just means I am going to need to upgrade my vidcard, which I already knew.

i don't know what people think about it but some of the best hackers round are working to crack the bioshock for pc...it will be coming out on pc faster than it will be selling for pc if any 1 is interested let me know.

o and the demo is also available for pc...my brothers computer cant run it maxed but he can stand with it maxed and dang its beautiful
