Just wanted to define the term I used in game today. Vehicle dumping. It is the act of taking a vehicle, unlocking it, and then abadononing it with using it to its full intent.
I played a game on Dreamus today and found a good number of vehcicles left unlocked and full health. I watched a little and caught the person doing it. I gave him a waring/explaination that an unlocked vehicle can be taken by the other team and then it will not spawn for your team until destroyed.
There seemed to be some confusion as to what I was try to convey in game. Hope this helps.

Know exactly what you mean, Joe!
If there's a 'Bender(or any vehicle for that matter!) at base or nodes, you do NOT get in and floor it, leaving your team mates to eat your dust...nor do you take said 'Bender to the primary (at least on any flavor of Dreamus, which you could have reached in the same amount of time on foot if you'd learned how to move forward using the double dodge/jump method) jump out, maybe touch the node then run off sans vehicle! All of those kinds of actions do not win maps...they do not win you friends (although they may earn you a growl from me! ;)....and are the antithesis of teamwork. Those actions do give the opposing team the benefit of time (you've slowed your team's advance by leaving a lot of them to hoof it) and in a lot of cases a "free" vehicle which the enemy team can use against you.
I know that there are continually new players coming to UT and to ONS...even after all this time.... :) To you guys, I say welcome and perhaps watch a bit...ask questions and become good team players!
Catch you in game!

that seems to explain it >_< i hate it when ppl decided to gun it right after getting in a vehicle (i've seen this happen with the goliath more than anything, apparently all they need is the main turret, not the support machine gun :/) what r these ppl thinking? ONS is a team game, not "Every man and woman for themselves". ppl who dump obviously have the "army of one" mentality: that is, "I dont need anyone's help, I'm the uberpwnzor from New York! I can do anything and everything so screw u guys!", which in turn leads to the unlucky team losing. so pls, GIVE UR TEAMMATES A RIDE XD.

The only confusion I can see is maybe a few people thought I meant jumping out of like the tank just before your gonna bite it. I understand it helps your stats and I'm fine with it. I don't personally do it since, being born a few miles from Newark NJ, I have been known to steal a vehicle from time to time. :bounce:

I like vehicle dumpers, at least when they're on the other team!!
Did any of you dudes/dudettes ever play with the vehilce mod that gave you the option to either lock the vehicle, turn it into a run away bomb, or booby trap it so that if an opposing player tried to get it the vehicle self-destructed? Fun mod....

as to the term "vehicle dumping" it sounds to me like somebody fed the manta a can of beans and laxitives..... :pukeright: :pukeleft:
but as to the real definition i disagree i mean who really wants some annoying shock balls in your face when driving a hellbender, or some stupid beams lancing over your head? isnt it just much easier to grab it zoom away run into a wall, hop out, die and then let the enemy take it? i mean sharing is nice right?

Double-post with a two hour time lag?
Well, I think we should open up a thread of strategies for certain ONS maps. I was thinking of doing it earlier, starting with Dreamus-SVE and maybe making a few more if people wanted me to, but I couldn't find the time. I think it might really help any noobs that stop by the website, though in my experience noobs don't really care. Newbs do, but not noobs.

I gotta side with sweaters on this one , it's pretty sweet after making ur way into enemy territory then to find a HB in key location with full health .
So this late in the game you seriously think your going to pound some sense into the noobie , a strategy guide for Dreamus , please . It's become pretty obvious , the side with Alpha driving the manta wins. Simple as that . Any other strategy will just add to his stats.

i like when the bots abandon vehicles when someone joins the game...and sometimes they even abandon them in random places for no apparent reason. down with bots! anyhoo...the only time i abandon vehicles is when i have placed 8 grenades on them. hohoho.
but if i have to wait more than 5 seconds for someone to get in a vehicle i just leave.
