EDIT - ACY is totally right - newegg is 159 AR

I paid 250 for this the day it came out (oct 07) so this is a phenomenal price. I play CoD4 with everything maxed out no problems.

They ever fix the issue with the 8800s and some of the lighting issues/low FPS with 2k4?

Nope, all the maps we play I see it on 3 of them.

I believe it was only with the 8800 GTS 320MB version (which I have the pleasure to own). The 640 and Ultra do not suffer from it. I don't believe that the 8800 GT uses the same code, so they don't suffer from it either.

Nvidia never fixed it despite it being in the bug reports for over a year. However, I have not checked on it lately since I have barely touched 2k4 in 5 months. I pretty much had to stop playing TAM because of it.

Yeah, when i first got it i went into UT and looked for that - I did not have that issue with the 8800gt.

ACY has it and still plays UT frequently - Acy do you notice the issue?

No no issues, on my end every now and then I get a tearing effect but it ussally goes away preaty quick. I think Karma has this card as well and she still plays 2k4 alot. It's a great card and I am thinking I will try to get a second soon for SLI. The price is too good to pass up.

Yep..I have the EVGA superclocked edition of the 8800 GT/512MB. Running with Windows XP Pro on my single core 3.6 GHz processor. And yes..I still have small handful of maps where frames go a little low and I get a bit of the slideshow...usually not an entire map..just in certain areas. However...I recently unlocked the fps on UT (don't ask me why I hadn't done it before now! LOL!!)..and it did make some improvement to this issue...at least on Dreamus while in the core. Haven't played the two maps in MM that have given me troubles since I've done this...so can't comment there.

I'm past the point of wondering why Invida just sat on their hands...it's a beauty of a card...and I've noticed stuff in UT that I wasn't even seeing with my then top of the line X850XT Platinum back when the game first came out. Haven't experienced any of the video tearing at all. Gameplay is smooth...and everything looks great. :D
