Noticed last week major packet loss. I have been pinging the server today

and the last hop before the server IP 206.123.64.98 Im getting 33-50% pl.

On a good note ping is very low for me 38-48 and my hops are only 9 surprisingly.

I was catching that a couple weeks ago . Could it be in the same building with the server do you think ?

I have asked several times in the past 3 days while playing on the server and haven't got but maybe one "yes" to pl. I dunno how it could just be me I would think it would be effecting everyone that plays. I pinged that 206 IP addy for an hour before I left for work and all I could get was 1600 packets sent and 625 returned :cyclopsani: not so hot. Thanks for looking into it.

I had to goto Linode just to make sure it wasnt on my end . :pukeleft:

That server should drop Torlan and play all Primeval instead. It would jump like 100 points on my scale of servers.

I've been getting some whacky PL too, Joe. Thought it might just be my new ISP, but they're saying everything is peachy on their end. Dunno....

Joe & Sweaters,

What sort of traceroute's are you getting to the server? I'm guessing you both have a sh*tty intermediate node that is causing you heartache. Heh! You may even be sharing an interconnect if you are geographically/topographically close to each other.

If you don't already know the tools to use:
*nix: traceroute or mtr
Win32: tracert (in dos box) or WinMTR (I believe Toxic has it for d/l)

Snaggle.

Im using my old UO trace program. Ill try those others and see whats up.

I think the tracer route is immportant but even then the game has been umplayable for me on the server is the point im trying to make and maybe for others as well.

Assuming I did this right, then Joe and I have a similar problem. Although this might as well be hieroglyphs to me.
