hey guys, well i might have fixed the problem with my vid card for UT2004 only. other games im not sure. but here is what i did
1. open the UT2004.ini file
2. find the line that says UseHardwareTL=True
3. switch it to False.
It seemed to have worked for me in Waisten-Tam but i have yet to try it in dreamus. tell me if this has worked for you guys. Thanks

Hey guys, just an update. what i have been noticing is since i changed "UseHardwareTL=False" the FPS has dropped almost by half for most maps. Anyone know why that is? the good thing is that it still runs smoothly for the most part. But curious why that would drop the frame rate. Thanks

"UseHardwareTL" tells the game to use the Video card's Texture & Layering on-board processing. When you turn this off you now have that functionality being performed by the game itself on the CPU. Hence less FPS.

Well IRC all CPUs are capable of doing it too. That functionality was added with DX7 i believe. Tsanger has mentioned his FPS are lower overall, but the annoying stuttering issue is gone. Everything I'm reading is suggesting this is a nvidia driver problem. Also, This isn't the only game affected.
Anyway some other interesting reads on the subject.

Basically they are talking about the INI file, someone is forcing what i believe is the quadro drivers, and there is another talking about disabling your weapon from drawing and your HUD.

think that is the xp driver.
I changed my changed memory to 128 I think that really helped and I forced my res. to the
the native of my LCD 1440 990.
I think its UT2004.ini file under Engine.GameEngine
CacheSizeMegs=32 change to 64 or higher
