Nice find Snaggle I believe you just solved the case of the 8800GTS slow down, it also explains why Wraith is not having problems more memory with the GTX. In any case you guys have to rememeber it is a DX10 card running DX9 software. Yeh it works but it is actuallyu optimized for the DX10 platform, which unfortunatly from what I have been reading means we are all eventually going to have to go to Vista in order to get the most ot of the games and video cards that run them!

man, what is up with that, i'd thought i'd got a pretty decent card. but guess not, haha, ah well it is just a matter of money to get an upgrade or wait and see how this card will turn out.

It's still a good card. The drivers are just a little lacking right now.
Speaking of which, there was a new ForceWare update on July 26. Did you try it out yet?
Snaggle.

Hopefully in mid-September they will have the fix for ya.
I thought it odd that they have the memory configs the way they do. Looks like in the end it bit them in the a*s

Yeah explains why the crt alt del thing works its flushing the memory. Try the Flush comand in the console that may do it as well. There might be a cmd like Vid Reset or soemthing that flushes the video memory. I have used to have to do that alot in Doac to clear out some wierd textures that appear.
I feel your pain I have found out my 7900 gs ko doent even make the warrenty in most cases.EVGA makes good on it but who wants to worry about a time bomb in your computer.

A problem with an nVidia card and UT 2004? Nah...couldn't be...after all...nVidia is the way it's meant to be played or so says the splash screen.
I'm thinking about an 8800 GTS for UT3, but I'd wait until late October or so to get one, hoping for a hot deal or price drops.

Well the driver still hasn't fix my problem yet with the Textures and Lighting. quite dissappointing, none the less, still going to try it for bioshock this weekend. I'll let you know.
Whipper, I hope to get another one of these near November or December for SLI, waiting for a price drop as well.
