D3DERR and Render are what pop out at me, do you have anything custom added in your edit packages, are you running any background programs? is it only Domeofdoom map or something else?

Yeah, if you're trying to join the game 5X during the same match, then it's most likely that you can't run Dome of Doom.

What video driver you using you might need to update.

Thanks for the reply... Sup Chav... Anyway, nothing 'special' is running in the background. my Forceware version is 177.98, released on Sept 8 (newest that I know of). My laptop works, so I'm half o.k.... Anyway... There was 2 other maps Karma's and crumpet... Anyway, I'll try to delete those maps or probably sacrifice more virgins....

If you Google...

IDirect3DVertexBuffer8::Lock failed(D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE).

...there are a number of topics about it. Most of the topics are about other games, but they all use the Unreal engine and Nvidia cards as far as I can tell.

This seemed to work for quite a few people:

"turn off the write combine. Open up your video card property, select advance tab, then troubleshooting tab."

3 things to try

Reapply the latest UT patch 3369 (I think it is)
Delete the maps
Uninstall the game/delete the UT directory and reinstall the game

I've seen that error before and I don't remember if reinstalling the patch fixed it or reinstalling the game. I don't think I tried deleting the maps though. Ever since I switched to Vista Ultimate 64bit my gaming has never been better and right now I can't remember what I did to fix that error.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help All...

It's finally working... I deleted all the maps, I didn't reinstall the game (don't have much patience for that), I reinstalled the vid driver tho. Five virgins later it worked :laughing6:
