This looks like a good 8800 GT 512 for $212 shipped after a $40 mail-in rebate. Price should be lower if you use slower shipping. Now I'm thinking about trying to return my BGF 8800 GT which has a crappy HSF and ordering this. (This assumes that the one in the photo is the "only the round heatpipe fan version is shipping.")

that does look like a pretty good deal...but i think that's the older heatsink or fan or whatever it is. i read a few reviews saying that it was too loud. i wish i could hear it first cause some people are more annoyed by louder fans than others.

The one in the photo is not the reference design. It's an after-market type. I think that's the one they're shipping out.

I have a question why is everyone buying these video cards, 8800, i mean i hear they only have 256mb, but this is 512 and example when playing games like crysis most of the players have very low frames, and these cards cost 200. I mean the one i have ATI Radeon 2600 pro 512mb is half the price but twice the power.

The amount of memory isn't really the indicator of video card "power" as you call it. The more memory the better to a certain point but the GPU is more important feature. They are not all equal.

most of the 8800gt's that i've seen are 512MB. they also have a 1GB. that's a little over $300 for the one i saw. anyway, they're definitely better than the 2600pro.
nvidia ati
those are links to the wikipedia pages about the nvidia and ati GPUs. look up the 8800gt 512MB and the HD2600pro 512MB.
...also, i don't really know that much about this stuff, but it seems like the HD2600pro is more around where the 8600gt is.

Uh noxious I really hope you don't trust Wiki for all your info considering that is a user created site. I would look and post from anand tech or tom's for reviews. wiki is in most circles a good place to start but if you want quality and accurate information you go to other places more respected.

No shame, no dishonor, will run away to fight another day!
