i haven't had the chance to mess with the forums much, However, I believe the color scheme needs to be reworked. So far the biggest issue i have is the grey text, It doesn't have as much contrast as it should. Forums should be easier to read, and i believe changing it to pure white will go a long way.

I agree with Hornet; the color scheme makes it difficult to read the forums and there doesn't seem to be any adjustments for it in the UserCP/Profile area.
